ATLAS diboson excesses as an evidence for a heavy $WW$ resonance with the weak isospin 2 / Arbuzov, Boris A (Lomonosov Moscow State U.) ; Zaitsev, Ivan V (Lomonosov Moscow State U.)
Recently reported diboson excesses at LHC are interpreted as indications for heavy resonance with weak isospin 2 due to would-be anomalous interaction of the weak bosons, which is defined by a constant λ. In the framework of an approach to the spontaneous generation of such interaction, we obtain estimates for the effect, which qualitatively agrees with ATLAS data. [...]

A time-tagging hybrid silicon pixel detector developed for beam tracking in the NA62 experiment has been tested in a dedicated test-beam at CERN with 10 GeV/c hadrons. Modeling TID Effects in Mach-Zehnder Interferometer Silicon Modulator for HL-LHC Data Transmission Applications / Seif El Nasr-Storey, Sarah (CERN ; U. High-speed Mach-Zehnder interferometer silicon modulators were exposed to a total ionizing dose of 1.3 MGy, levels comparable to the worst radiation levels for a tracking detector after 10 years of operation at the High-Luminosity LHC, show a sensitivity to ionizing radiation after exposure to a dose of a few hundred kGy. A physical model to describe the effect of ionizing radiation on the modulators has been developed and is used to predict whether a more radiation-hard modulator can be designed to survive the harshest radiation environments expected at the HL-LHC..

This paper explores the relationship between monoenergetic and mixed-field Single Event Latchup (SEL) cross sections, concluding that for components with a very strong energy dependence and highly-energetic environments, test results from monoenergetic or soft mixed-field spectra can significantly underestimate the operational failure rate. We introduce a semi-empirical approach that can be used to evaluate the SEL rate for such environments based on monoenergetic measurements and information or assumptions on the respective sensitive volume and materials surrounding it. We show how to extend systematically the FONLL scheme for inclusion of heavy quark mass effects in DIS to account for the possible effects of an intrinsic charm component in the nucleon. We show that when there is no intrinsic charm, FONLL is equivalent to S-ACOT to any order in perturbation theory, while when an intrinsic charm component is included FONLL is identical to ACOT, again to all orders in perturbation theory.
