Overview of the latest jet physics results from ALICE / Mulligan, James (LBNL, NSD ; UC, Berkeley) /ALICE Collaboration We overview recent jet measurements in pp and Pb-Pb collisions with the ALICE detector. ALICE reconstructs jets at midrapidity using the anti-$k_{\mathrm{T}}$ algorithm, including both charged particle jets from the ALICE tracking detectors, and full jets from the combination of the ALICE electromagnetic calorimeter with the tracking system. Measurement of long-range correlations in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 13 TeV with ALICE at the LHC / Kim, Jun Lee (Jeonbuk Natl. U.) /ALICE Collaboration The observed azimuthal modulations of long-range correlations in pseudorapidity in small systems like pp or p-Pb collisions show strikingly similar features to those seen in heavy ion collisions. Many theoretical approaches to interpreting this effect have been developed. Multiplicity and centre-of-mass energy dependence of light-flavor hadron production in pp, p$-$Pb, and Pb$-$Pb collisions with ALICE / Ravasenga, Ivan (BITP, Kiev) /ALICE Collaboration In heavy-ion collisions (A$-$A) at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) energies, a strongly coupled Quark Gluon Plasma (QGP) is produced, giving rise to collective phenomena whose signatures can be retrieved in final state hadronic observables. Recent observations suggest the presence of collective phenomena in small systems like pp collisions. Spin Alignment Measurements of Vector Mesons in ALICE at the LHC / Kundu, Sourav (NISER, Jatni) /ALICE Collaboration Spin alignment of K$^{*0}$ and $\phi$ vector mesons produced in non-central heavy-ion collisions could occur due to the presence of large initial angular momentum. This phenomenon leads to a non-uniform angular distribution of the decay daughters of vector mesons with respect to the quantization axis in the rest frame of vector mesons. [...] 2020 - 5 p. Testing Coalescence and Thermal Models with the Production Measurement of Light (Anti-)Nuclei as Function of the Collision System Size with ALICE at the LHC / Barioglio, Luca (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) /ALICE Collaboration High energy pp, p–Pb, and Pb–Pb collisions at the LHC offer a unique tool to study the production of light (anti-)nucleiNuclei. The study of the production yield of (anti-)nucleiNuclei in heavy-ion collisions at the LHC energy probes the late stages in the evolution of the hot, dense nuclear matter created in the collision. Low-mass dielectron measurements in Pb-Pb collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Bailhache, Raphaelle (Goethe U., Frankfurt (main)) /ALICE Collaboration The measurement of e$^{+}$e$^{-}$ pair production in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions is a unique tool to investigate the temperature of the quark-gluon plasma created in such colliding systems, to study the effect of the predicted chiral symmetry restoration and to investigate coherent photon-photon interactions in hadronic heavy-ion collisions. At low invariant mass, the dielectron production is sensitive to the properties of short-lived vector mesons in the medium related to chiral symmetry restoration. Relative Yield of Neutral and Charged Kaons in Pb-Pb Collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / Nayak, Ranjit (Indian Inst. Tech., Mumbai) /ALICE Collaboration The first measurements of event-by-event correlated fluctuations of neutral and charged kaons are reported in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV, which are proposed to be related to isospin fluctuations in the kaon sector. These dynamic fluctuations affect the mechanism of correlated productions of neutral and charged kaons in heavy ion collisions. Light neutral meson production in the era of precision physics at the LHC / Sas, Mike Henry Petrus (Utrecht U. ; Nikhef, Amsterdam) /ALICE Collaboration The production of light neutral mesons in different collision systems is interesting for a variety ofreasons: In nucleus-nucleus (AA) collisions the measurements provide important information onthe energy loss of partons traversing the Quark-Gluon Plasma (QGP) which is formed in heavyion collisions at the LHC. In proton–proton (pp) collisions, neutral mesons allow us to test withhigh precision the predictions of perturbative QCD and other model calculations, and also serveas a reference for pA and AA collisions. Investigating charm and beauty production and elliptic flow with leptons in Pb—Pb with ALICE / Völkl, Martin Andreas (Tubingen U.) /ALICE Collaboration Measurements of leptons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in nucleus-nucleus collisions can help provide an insight into the interaction of heavy quarks with the Quark-Gluon Plasma. Both electrons and muons can be used for this purpose.
