Selected Results from the ALICE Experiment at the LHC / Raniwala, Sudhir (Rajasthan U.) /ALICE The major aim of the ALICE experiment at CERN is to probe the dynamical evolution of ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions and study the properties of dense matter formed in these collisions. To this objective, the ALICE detector system measures the emergent particles and searches for correlations amongst them. [...] 2018 - Published in : Few-Body Syst. 59 (2018) 117

High Granularity Digital Si-W Electromagnetic Calorimeter for Forward Direct Photon Measurements at LHC / Wang, Hongkai (Utrecht U.) /ALICE FoCal A compact digital Si-W sampling electromagnetic calorimeter prototype using Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors (MAPS) with a granularity of $30 \times 30\, \mu \text {m}$ and a total depth of 28 $X_{0}$ has been built and tested with beams. The test beam results demonstrate not only good energy linearity and reasonable energy resolution, but also a position resolution of better than 30 ${\mu}\text {m}$ . A Si-PAD and Tungsten Based Electromagnetic Calorimeter for the Forward Direct Photon Measurement at LHC / Kawamura, Yota (Tsukuba U.) /ALICE FoCal For the forward direct photon measurement at LHC-ALICE, we propose to construct a Forward Calorimeter (FoCal). FoCal-E is a silicon and tungsten calorimeter design, consists of low granularity Si-Pad layers (LGL) for precise measurement of photon energy and a few high granularity layers (HGL) with pixel readout to achieve an excellent position resolution to separate two photons from $\pi ^0$ . Small systems at the LHC / Preghenella, Roberto (INFN, Bologna) In these proceedings, I report on a selection of recent LHC results in small systems from ALICE, ATLAS and CMS experiments. Due to the fact that the investigation of QCD in small systems at high multiplicity is becoming an increasingly large subject, interesting the heavy-ion community and more in general the high-energy physics community, not all the related topics can be discussed in this paper.
