Recent heavy-flavour measurements with ALICE / Politanò, Stefano (Polytech. Turin) /ALICE Collaboration
In this contribution, an overview on the latest results of the ALICE Collaboration on the production of heavy-flavour hadrons in pp and Pb–Pb collision systems will be presented. Due to their large masses, heavy quarks are produced on shorter time scales than the typical QGP formation time, thus they participate to the system evolution and interact with the medium constituents making the heavy-flavour quarks a perfect probe to investigate the QGP properties. Recent quarkonium measurements with ALICE / Bai, Xiaozhi (Hefei, CUST ; Darmstadt, GSI) /ALICE Collaboration
Quarkonium production is one of the essential probes for studying the properties of the quark-gluon plasma (QGP) created in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. The suppression of J/ψ due to color screening in the medium was initially proposed as direct evidence of QGP formation. [...]

Recent Jet Measurements in ALICE / Bossi, Hannah (Yale U., Dept. Astron.) /ALICE Collaboration
The precise measurement of jets in pp collisions plays a critical role in the study of quantum chromodynamics (QCD). Measurements of jets in relativistic heavy-ion collisions are additionally useful for probing QCD matter in the regime of high densities and temperatures since the partons in the jet evolution interact strongly with the medium. [...]

Event-by-Event correlations and fluctuations with strongly intensive quantities in heavy-ion and / Sputowska, Iwona Anna (Cracow, INP) /ALICE Collaboration
This paper presents a short overview of event-by-event correlations and fluctuations analysis with strongly intensive quantities measured by ALICE at LHC in pp, p--Pb, Xe--Xe, and Pb--Pb collisions in the overall energy regime ranging from $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}=0.9$ up to 13~TeV. The evolution of the forward-backward strongly intensive quantity $\Sigma$ is analyzed as a function of the distance between forward and backward pseudorapidity intervals ($\eta$ gap), the centrality of the collision, and the width of the centrality bin. Hadronic Resonance Production with ALICE at the LHC / Kiselev, Sergey (Kurchatov Inst., Moscow ; Moscow, ITEP) /ALICE Collaboration
We present recent results on short-lived hadronic resonances obtained by the ALICE experiment at LHC energies. Results include system-size and collision-energy evolution of transverse momentum spectra, yields and ratios of resonance yields to those of longer lived particles, and nuclear modification factors. Skewness of event-by-event $\langle p_\mathrm{T}\rangle$ distribution of charged particles at LHC energies with ALICE / Saha, Swati (HBNI, Mumbai ; NISER, Jatni) /ALICE Collaboration
In ultrarelativistic heavy-ion collisions, a hot and dense nuclear state of matter known as the quark–gluon plasma (QGP) is formed, in which quarks and gluons are no longer confined within hadrons. The space–time evolution of the QGP is known to be governed by hydrodynamic equations of state. [...]

Isolated photon cross section in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV with the ALICE at LHC / Chandra, Sinjini (Calcutta, VECC ; HBNI, Mumbai) /ALICE Collaboration
In ultra-relativistic hadronic collisions, direct photons are those photons that are directly produced in elementary processes and act as a valuable tool to test perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (pQCD) predictions. Since these photons are produced directly from parton–parton hard scatterings, they can be used to constrain the parton distribution functions (PDFs). [...]

Probing rescattering effect in heavy-ion collisions with ALICE at the LHC / Das, Prottay (NISER, Jatni ; HBNI, Mumbai) /ALICE Collaboration
Hadronic resonances are short-lived particles which decay via strong interaction. During the hadron gas phase that follows the hadronisation of the medium created in heavyion collisions and spans from the chemical to the kinetic freeze-out, resonances having lifetimes comparable to the duration of the hadronic phase take part in two processes, called regeneration and rescattering.
