Development and Fabrication of Nb$_3$Sn Rutherford Cable for the 11 T DS Dipole Demonstration Model / Barzi, E (Fermilab) ; Lombardo, V (Fermilab) ; Nobrega, F (Fermilab) ; Turrioni, D (Fermilab) ; Yamada, R (Fermilab) ; Zlobin, A V (Fermilab) ; Karppinen, M (CERN)
Fermilab and CERN started the development of 11 T Nb$_3$Sn dipoles 11 m long to replace a few regular LHC NbTi dipoles and free space for cold collimators in LHC dispersion suppression (DS) areas. An important step in the design of these magnets is the development of the high aspect ratio Nb$_3$Sn cable to achieve the nominal field of 11 T at the nominal LHC operating current of 11.85 kA with 20% margin. Design and Fabrication of a Single-Aperture 11T Nb$_3$Sn Dipole Model for LHC Upgrades / Andreev, N (Fermilab) ; Apollinari, G (Fermilab) ; Barzi, E (Fermilab) ; Bossert, R (Fermilab) ; Nobrega, F (Fermilab) ; Novitski, I (Fermilab) ; Turrioni, D (Fermilab) ; Yamada, R (Fermilab) ; Zlobin, A V (Fermilab) ; Auchmann, B (CERN) et al.
The planned upgrade of the LHC collimation system includes additional collimators to be installed in the dispersion suppressor areas of points 2, 3 and 7. To provide the necessary longitudinal space for the collimators, a replacement of 8.33 T Nb-Ti LHC main dipoles with 11 T dipoles based on Nb3Sn superconductor compatible with the LHC lattice and main systems is being considered. First demonstration of the use of crab cavities on hadron beams / Calaga, R (CERN) ; Alekou, A (Manchester U.) ; Antoniou, F (CERN) ; Appleby, R B (Manchester U.) ; Arnaudon, L (CERN) ; Artoos, K (CERN) ; Arduini, G (CERN) ; Baglin, V (CERN) ; Barriere, S (CERN) ; Bartosik, H (CERN) et al.
Many future particle colliders require beam crabbing to recover geometric luminosity loss from the nonzero crossing angle at the interaction point (IP). A first demonstration experiment of crabbing with hadron beams was successfully carried out with high energy protons. [...]

Gamma Factory for CERN initiative - progress report / Dutheil, Yann (CERN) ; Abramov, Andrey (Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Alden, Siobhan (Royal Holloway, U. of London) ; Alemany Fernandez, Reyes (CERN) ; Antsiferov, Pavel (Troitsk, IZMIRAN) ; Apyan, Armen (NAS Armenia, Yerevan) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Bessonov, Evgeny (Lebedev Inst.) ; Biancacci, Nicolo (CERN) ; Bieron, Jacek (Jagiellonian U.) et al.
The Gamma Factory (GF) initiative proposes to use partially stripped ion (PSI) beams as drivers of a new type of high-intensity and high-energy (0.1–400 MeV) photon source. As part of the ongoing Physics Beyond Collider studies, initial beam tests were carried out in 2017 and 2018 at the SPS and LHC with partially stripped xenon and lead beams [...]
