RF pulse shape control in the compact linear collider test facility / Kononenko, Oleksiy (SLAC ; CERN) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN)
The Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) is a study for an electron–positron machine aiming at accelerating and colliding particles at the next energy frontier. The CLIC concept is based on the novel two-beam acceleration scheme, where a high-current low-energy drive beam generates RF in series of power extraction and transfer structures accelerating the low-current main beam. A small scale remote cooling system for a superconducting cyclotron magnet / Haug, F (CERN) ; Berkowitz Zamorra, D (CERN ; KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Michels, M (CERN ; KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Gomez Bosch, R (CERN) ; Schmid, J (CERN) ; Striebel, A (CERN) ; Krueger, A (CERN) ; Diez, M (CERN) ; Jakob, M (CERN) ; Keh, M (CERN) et al.
Through a technology transfer program CERN is involved in the R&D; of a compact superconducting cyclotron for future clinical radioisotope production, a project led by the Spanish research institute CIEMAT. For the remote cooling of the LTc superconducting magnet operating at 4.5 K, CERN has designed a small scale refrigeration system, the Cryogenic Supply System (CSS). [...]

The design of the new LHC connection cryostats / Vande Craen, A (CERN) ; Barlow, G (CERN) ; Eymin, C (CERN) ; Moretti, M (CERN) ; Parma, V (CERN) ; Ramos, D (CERN)
In the frame of the High Luminosity upgrade of the LHC, improved collimation schemes are needed to cope with the superconducting magnet quench limitations due to the increasing beam intensities and particle debris produced in the collision points. Two new TCLD collimators have to be installed on either side of the ALICE experiment to intercept heavy-ion particle debris. [...]

The High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is a project aiming to upgrade the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) after 2020-2025 in order to increase the integrated luminosity by about one order of magnitude and extend the operational capabilities until 2035. The upgrade of the focusing triplet insertions for the Atlas and CMS experiments foresees using superconducting magnets operating in a pressurised superfluid helium bath at 1.9 K. [...]

First operational experience with the HIE-Isolde helium cryogenic system including several RF cryo-modules / Guillotin, N (CERN) ; Dupont, T (CERN) ; Gayet, Ph (CERN) ; Pirotte, O (CERN)
The High Intensity and Energy ISOLDE (HIE-ISOLDE) upgrade project at CERN includes the deployment of new superconducting accelerating structures operated at 4.5 K (ultimately of six cryo-modules) installed in series, and the refurbishing of the helium cryo-plant previously used to cool the ALEPH magnet during the operation of the LEP accelerator from 1989 to 2000. The helium refrigerator is connected to a new cryogenic distribution line, supplying a 2000-liter storage dewar and six interconnecting valve boxes (i.e jumper boxes), one for each cryo-module. [...]
