Signal coupling to embedded pitch adapters in silicon sensors / Artuso, Marina (Syracuse University (US)) ; Betancourt, Christopher (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) ; Bezshyiko, Iaroslava (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) ; Blusk, Steven R. We have examined the effects of embedded pitch adapters on signal formation in n-substrate silicon microstrip sensors with data from beam tests and simulation. According to simulation, the presence of the pitch adapter metal layer changes the electric field inside the sensor, resulting in slowed signal formation on the nearby strips and a pick-up effect on the pitch adapter. A study on Scintillating Fiber tracker optimisation for the LHCb upgrade / Piucci, Alessio (Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg (DE)) ; Mogini, Andrea (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (FR)) ; Esen, Sevda (Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg (DE)) ; Nikodem, Thomas (Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg (DE))
New tracking stations made from scintillating fibres are designed as a part of the LHCb Upgrade to provide the tracking capabilities in the data-taking environment foreseen after Run II. Due to the higher track multiplicity and higher total integrated radiation dose, larger inefficiencies are found in the simulation compared to the current tracker. [...]

The Future of RICH Detectors through the Light of the LHCb RICH / D'Ambrosio, C. (CERN) ; Cardinale, R. ; Easo, S. ; Petrolini, A. ; Ullaland, O. /LHCb RICH
The limitations in performance of the present RICH system in the LHCb experiment are given by the natural chromatic dispersion of the gaseous Cherenkov radiator, the aberrations of the optical system and the pixel size of the photon detectors. Moreover, the overall PID performance can be affected by high detector occupancy as the pattern recognition becomes more difficult with high particle multiplicities. [...]

Radiation environment of the LHCb Calorimeters in 2010-2013 (under review) / Corti, Gloria (CERN) ; Karacson, Matthias (Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg (DE))
A set of passive and active radiation detectors has been installed around and in between the LHCb calorimeter subsystems to measure different aspects of the radiation environment. Cross calibrations between various types of measurements are performed and correlated with the evolving run conditions. [...]
