Massless Interacting Scalar Fields in de Sitter space / Nacir, Diana López (CERN) ; Mazzitelli, Francisco D (Balseiro Inst., San Carlos de Bariloche) ; Trombetta, Leonardo G (Balseiro Inst., San Carlos de Bariloche) We present a method to compute the two-point functions for an $O(N)$ scalar field model in de Sitter spacetime, avoiding the well known infrared problems for massless fields. The method is based on an exact treatment of the Euclidean zero modes and a perturbative one of the nonzero modes, and involves a partial resummation of the leading secular terms. Starobinsky-Like Inflation and Neutrino Masses in a No-Scale SO(10) Model / Ellis, John (CERN ; King's Coll. London) ; Garcia, Marcos A. G. (Rice U.) ; Nagata, Natsumi (Tokyo U.) ; Nanopoulos, Dimitri V. (Athens Academy ; HARC, Woodlands ; Texas A-M) ; Olive, Keith A. (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.) Using a no-scale supergravity framework, we construct an SO(10) model that makes predictions for cosmic microwave background observables similar to those of the Starobinsky model of inflation, and incorporates a double-seesaw model for neutrino masses consistent with oscillation experiments and late-time cosmology. We pay particular attention to the behaviour of the scalar fields during inflation and the subsequent reheating.. arXiv:1609.05849; KCL-PH-TH-2016-54; CERN-TH-2016-188; UT-16-29; ACT-05-16; MI-TH-162; UMN-TH-3603-16; FTPI-MINN-16-26.- 2016 - 38 p. - Published in : J. The Super-GUT CMSSM Revisited / Ellis, John (CERN ; King's Coll. London) ; Evans, Jason L (Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul) ; Mustafayev, Azar (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.) ; Nagata, Natsumi (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.) ; Olive, Keith A (Minnesota U., Theor. Phys. Inst.) We revisit minimal supersymmetric SU(5) grand unification (GUT) models in which the soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters of the minimal supersymmetric Standard Model (MSSM) are universal at some input scale, $M_{in}$, above the supersymmetric gauge coupling unification scale, $M_{GUT}$. As in the constrained MSSM (CMSSM), we assume that the scalar masses and gaugino masses have common values, $m_0$ and $m_{1/2}$ respectively, at $M_{in}$, as do the trilinear soft supersymmetry-breaking parameters $A_0$. Associated production of a quarkonium and a Z boson at one loop in a quark-hadron-duality approach / Lansberg, Jean-Philippe (Orsay, IPN) ; Shao, Hua-Sheng (CERN) In view of the large discrepancy about the associated production of a prompt $J/\psi$ and a $Z$ boson between the ATLAS data at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV and theoretical predictions for Single Parton Scattering (SPS) contributions, we perform an evaluation of the corresponding cross section at one loop accuracy (Next-to-Leading Order, NLO) in a quark-hadron-duality approach, also known as the Colour-Evaporation Model (CEM). This work is motivated by (i) the extremely disparate predictions based on the existing NRQCD fits conjugated with the absence of a full NLO NRQCD computation and (ii) the fact that we believe that such an evaluation provides a likely upper limit of the SPS cross section. On gravitational and thermal corrections to vacuum decay / Salvio, Alberto (CERN) ; Strumia, Alessandro (INFN, Pisa ; CERN ; Pisa U.) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (CERN ; Athens U.) ; Urbano, Alfredo (CERN) We reconsider gravitational corrections to vacuum decay, confirming and simplifying earlier results and extending them allowing for a non-minimal coupling of the Higgs to gravity, finding that leading-order gravitational corrections suppress the vacuum decay rate. Furthermore, we find minor corrections to thermal vacuum decay in the SM adding one-loop corrections to the Higgs kinetic term, two-loop corrections to the Higgs potential and allowing for time-dependent bounces.. arXiv:1608.02555; IFUP-TH-2016; CERN-TH-2016-180.- 2016 - 18 p. - Published in : J. Solving the Standard Model Problems in Softened Gravity / Salvio, Alberto (CERN) The Higgs naturalness problem is solved if the growth of Einstein's gravitational interaction is softened at an energy $\lesssim 10^{11}\,$GeV (softened gravity). We work here within an explicit realization where the Einstein-Hilbert Lagrangian is extended to include terms quadratic in the curvature and a non-minimal coupling with the Higgs. Effective Field Theory with Two Higgs Doublets / Crivellin, Andreas (PSI, Villigen) ; Ghezzi, Margherita (PSI, Villigen) ; Procura, Massimiliano (CERN) In this article we extend the effective field theory framework describing new physics effects to the case where the underlying low-energy theory is a Two-Higgs-Doublet model. We derive a complete set of independent operators up to dimension six assuming a $Z_2$-invariant CP-conserving Higgs potential. Four-gluon scattering at three loops, infrared structure and Regge limit / Henn, Johannes M (U. Mainz, PRISMA) ; Mistlberger, Bernhard (CERN) We compute the three-loop four-gluon scattering amplitude in maximally supersymmetric Yang-Mills theory, including its full color dependence. Our result is the first complete computation of a non-planar four-particle scattering amplitude to three loops in four-dimensional gauge theory and consequently provides highly non-trivial data for the study of non-planar scattering amplitudes. Baryogenesis and Gravitational Waves from Runaway Bubble Collisions / Katz, Andrey (CERN) ; Riotto, Antonio (Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys. ; Geneva U., CAP) We propose a novel mechanism for production of baryonic asymmetry in the early Universe. The mechanism takes advantage of the strong first order phase transition that produces runaway bubbles in the hidden sector that propagate almost without friction with ultra-relativistic velocities. Sneutrino Inflation with $\alpha$-attractors / Kallosh, Renata (Stanford U., ITP ; Stanford U., Phys. Dept.) ; Linde, Andrei (Stanford U., ITP ; Stanford U., Phys. Dept.) ; Roest, Diederik (U. Groningen, VSI ; CERN) ; Wrase, Timm (Vienna, Tech. U.) Sneutrino inflation employs the fermionic partners of the inflaton and stabilizer field as right-handed neutrinos to realize the seesaw mechanism for light neutrino masses. A crucial ingredient in existing constructions for sneutrino (multi-)natural inflation is an unbroken discrete shift symmetry.
