On gravitational and thermal corrections to vacuum decay / Salvio, Alberto (CERN) ; Strumia, Alessandro (INFN, Pisa ; CERN ; Pisa U.) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (CERN ; Athens U.) ; Urbano, Alfredo (CERN) We reconsider gravitational corrections to vacuum decay, confirming and simplifying earlier results and extending them allowing for a non-minimal coupling of the Higgs to gravity, finding that leading-order gravitational corrections suppress the vacuum decay rate. Furthermore, we find minor corrections to thermal vacuum decay in the SM adding one-loop corrections to the Higgs kinetic term, two-loop corrections to the Higgs potential and allowing for time-dependent bounces.. arXiv:1608.02555; IFUP-TH-2016; CERN-TH-2016-180.- 2016 - 18 p. - Published in : J. Interplay of Infrared Divergences and Gauge-Dependence of the Effective Potential / Espinosa, J R (Barcelona, IFAE ; ICREA, Barcelona) ; Garny, M (CERN) ; Konstandin, T (CERN) The perturbative effective potential suffers infrared (IR) divergences in gauges with massless Goldstones in their minima (like Landau or Fermi gauges) but the problem can be fixed by a suitable resummation of the Goldstone propagators. When the potential minimum is generated radiatively, gauge-independence of the potential at the minimum also requires resummation and we demonstrate that the resummation that solves the IR problem also cures the gauge-dependence issue, showing this explicitly in the Abelian Higgs model in Fermi gauge. On the validity of the CMSSM interpretation of the diphoton excess / Dreiner, Herbi K (U. Bonn, Phys. Inst., BCTP ; Bonn U.) ; Krauss, Manuel E (U. Bonn, Phys. Inst., BCTP ; Bonn U.) ; O'Leary, Ben ; Opferkuch, Toby (U. Bonn, Phys. Inst., BCTP ; Bonn U.) ; Staub, Florian (CERN) It has been proposed that the observed diphoton excess at 750 GeV could be explained within the constrained MSSM via resonantly produced stop bound states. We reanalyse this scenario critically and extend previous work to include the constraints from the stability of the electroweak vacuum and from the decays of the stoponium into a pair of Higgs bosons. The Higgs transverse momentum spectrum with finite quark masses beyond leading order / Caola, Fabrizio (CERN) ; Forte, Stefano (INFN, Milan ; Milan U.) ; Marzani, Simone (SUNY, Buffalo) ; Muselli, Claudio (Milan U. ; INFN, Milan) ; Vita, Gherardo (MIT, Cambridge, CTP) We apply the leading-log high-energy resummation technique recently derived by some of us to the transverse momentum (pt) distribution for production of a Higgs boson in gluon fusion. We use our results to obtain information on mass-dependent corrections to this observable, which is only known at leading order when exact mass dependence is included. Constraining anomalous Higgs boson couplings to the heavy flavor fermions using matrix element techniques / Gritsan, Andrei V (Johns Hopkins U.) ; Röntsch, Raoul (KIT, Karlsruhe) ; Schulze, Markus (CERN) ; Xiao, Meng (Johns Hopkins U.) In this paper we investigate anomalous interactions of the Higgs boson with heavy fermions, employing shapes of kinematic distributions. We study the processes $pp \to t\bar{t} + H$, $b\bar{b} + H$, $tq+H$, and $pp \to H\to\tau^+\tau^-$, and present applications of event generation, re-weighting techniques for fast simulation of anomalous couplings, as well as matrix element techniques for optimal sensitivity. $O(N)$ model in Euclidean de Sitter space: beyond the leading infrared approximation / Nacir, Diana López (CERN) ; Mazzitelli, Francisco D (Balseiro Inst., San Carlos de Bariloche ; Centro Atomico Bariloche) ; Trombetta, Leonardo G (Balseiro Inst., San Carlos de Bariloche ; Centro Atomico Bariloche) We consider an $O(N)$ scalar field model with quartic interaction in $d$-dimensional Euclidean de Sitter space. In order to avoid the problems of the standard perturbative calculations for light and massless fields, we generalize to the $O(N)$ theory a systematic method introduced previously for a single field, which treats the zero modes exactly and the nonzero modes perturbatively. Higgs Inflation, Reheating and Gravitino Production in No-Scale Supersymmetric GUTs / Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; He, Hong-Jian (Tsinghua U., Beijing, CHEP ; Peking U., CHEP) ; Xianyu, Zhong-Zhi (Harvard U. (main)) We extend our previous study of supersymmetric Higgs inflation in the context of no-scale supergravity and grand unification, to include models based on the flipped SU(5) and the Pati-Salam group. Like the previous SU(5) GUT model, these yield a class of inflation models whose inflation predictions interpolate between those of the quadratic chaotic inflation and Starobinsky-like inflation, while also avoiding tension with proton decay limits. The Higgs of the Higgs and the diphoton channel / Kannike, Kristjan (NICPB, Tallinn) ; Pelaggi, Giulio Maria (Pisa U. and INFN, Pisa) ; Salvio, Alberto (CERN) ; Strumia, Alessandro (NICPB, Tallinn ; Pisa U. and INFN, Pisa ; CERN) LHC results do not confirm conventional natural solutions to the Higgs mass hierarchy problem, motivating alternative interpretations where a hierarchically small weak scale is generated from a dimension-less quantum dynamics. We propose weakly and strongly-coupled models where the field that breaks classical scale invariance giving mass to itself and to the Higgs is identified with a possible new resonance within the LHC reach. Soft Gamma Rays from Heavy WIMPs / Krauss, Manuel Ernst (Bonn U.) ; Opferkuch, Toby (Bonn U.) ; Staub, Florian (CERN) ; Winkler, Martin Wolfgang (Bonn U.) We propose an explanation of the galactic center gamma ray excess by supersymmetric WIMPs as heavy as 500 GeV. The lightest neutralino annihilates into vector-like leptons or quarks which cascade decay through intermediate Higgs bosons.
