Considerations for a RF separated K+ beam for NA62 / Appleby, Robert Barrie (University of Manchester (GB)) ; Bernhard, Johannes (CERN) ; Dainton, John Bourke (Lancaster University (GB)) ; Gatignon, Lau (Lancaster University (GB)) ; Goudzovski, Evgueni (University of Birmingham (GB)) ; Burton, Graeme Alan ; Jones, Rhodri (CERN) ; Lazzeroni, Cristina (University of Birmingham (GB)) ; Romano, Angela (University of Birmingham (GB)) ; Ruggiero, Gennaro et al.
In this document we assess the potential of RF separation to increase the kaon content of the high-intensity secondary beam to the NA62 experiment in the CERN North Area. [...]

Simulation Analysis and Machine Learning Based Detection of Beam-Induced Heating in Particle Accelerator at CERN / Giordano, Francesco (Universita e sezione INFN di Napoli (IT))
A method for a first-order approximation estimation of the longitudinal impedance of a synchrotron component, starting from power loss measurements on the device, is proposed. This method also estimates the resonance frequency and the quality factor of the impedance after the execution of several machine runs, without disconnecting the device. [...]

A pulsed high-voltage decelerator system to deliver low-energy antiprotons / Husson, A (IJCLab, Orsay) ; Kim, B H (Seoul Natl. U., Dept. Phys. Astron.) ; Welker, A (CERN) ; Charlton, M (Swansea U.) ; Choi, J J (Seoul Natl. U., Dept. Phys. Astron.) ; Chung, M (UNIST, Ulsan) ; Cladé, P (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Comini, P (IRFU, Saclay) ; Crépin, P -P (Paris, Lab. Kastler Brossel) ; Crivelli, P (Zurich, ETH-CSCS/SCSC) et al.
The GBAR (Gravitational Behavior of Antihydrogen at Rest) experiment at CERN requires efficient deceleration of 100 keV antiprotons provided by the new ELENA synchrotron ring to synthesize antihydrogen. This is accomplished using electrostatic deceleration optics and a drift tube that is designed to switch from -99 kV to ground when the antiproton bunch is inside – essentially a charged particle “elevator” – producing a 1 keV pulse. Impact of betatron collimation losses in the High-Energy Large Hadron Collider / Varasteh, M (CERN) ; Bruce, R (CERN) ; Cerutti, F (CERN) ; Crouch, M (CERN) ; Zimmermann, F (CERN)
In response to recommendations in the 2013 update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics, a conceptual design effort for an energy upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, the so-called high-energy LHC (HE-LHC), was launched as part of the Future Circular Collider study. The HE-LHC machine, which is meant to use 16 T magnet technologies in the existing LHC tunnel, would provide proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 27 TeV (∼2×LHC) with a total stored energy of 1.34 GJ (∼4×LHC) per beam. High-gradient behavior of a dipole-mode rf structure / Woolley, B (Lancaster U. ; CERN) ; Burt, G (Lancaster U.) ; Dexter, A C (Lancaster U.) ; Peacock, R (Lancaster U.) ; Millar, W L (Lancaster U.) ; Catalan Lasheras, N (CERN) ; Degiovanni, A (CERN) ; Grudiev, A (CERN) ; Mcmonagle, G (CERN) ; Syratchev, I (CERN) et al.
A normal-conducting, X-band traveling wave structure operating in the dipole mode has been systematically high-gradient tested to gain insight into the maximum possible gradients in these types of structure. Measured structure conditioning, breakdown behavior, and achieved surface fields are reported as well as a postmortem analysis of the breakdown position and a scanning electron microscope analysis of the high-field surfaces. Partial Meissner effect measurement by a superconducting magnetic flux lens / Ivanov, A. (CERN) ; Koettig, T. (CERN) ; Macpherson, A. (CERN)
Magnetic flux trapping in the Meissner transition of superconducting radio frequency cavities can substantially increase dissipation which impacts cryogenic costs and necessitates expensive magnetic shielding. [...]

The ENUBET Project. A high precision narrow-band neutrino beam / Brunetti, G (INFN, Padua) ; Acerbi, F (Fond. Bruno Kessler, Trento ; TIFPA-INFN, Trento) ; Ballerini, G (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Bonesini, M (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Branca, A (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) ; Brizzolari, C (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Capelli, S (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Carturan, S (INFN, Legnaro) ; Catanesi, M G (INFN, Bari) ; Cecchini, S (INFN, Bologna) et al.
The knowledge of initial flux, energy and flavor of neutrino beams is currently the main limitation for a precise measurement of neutrino cross sections. The ENUBET project is studying a facility based on a narrow band neutrino beam capable of constraining the neutrino fluxes normalization through the monitoring of the associated charged leptons in an instrumented decay tunnel. (CERN ; IJCLab, Orsay ; Taras Shevchenko U.) et al.
The UA9 setup, installed in the Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) at CERN, was exploited for a proof of principle of the double-crystal scenario, proposed to measure the electric and the magnetic moments of short-lived baryons in a high-energy hadron collider, such as the Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
