In this paper, several iron-free solenoid-based designs of a detector magnet for the future circular collider for hadron-hadron collisions (FCC-hh) are presented. The detector magnet designs for FCC-hh aim to provide bending power for particles over a wide pseudorapidity range (0 ≤ jηj ≤ 4). [...]

The gain in Thick GEM multipliers and its time-evolution / M. Alexeev (INFN Torino) ; R. Birsa (INFN Trieste) ; F. Bradamante (INFN Trieste) ; A. Bressan (INFN Trieste) ; M. Buechele (Freiburg University) ; M. Chiosso (INFN Torino) ; P. Ciliberti (INFN Trieste) ; S. Dalla Torre (INFN Trieste) ; S. Dasgupta (INFN Trieste) ; O. Denisov (INFN Torino) et al.
In the context of a project to upgrade the gas photon detectors of COMPASS RICH-1, we have performed an R&D; programme aimed to develop photon detectors based on multi-layer arrangements of thick GEM electron multipliers coupled to a CsI photoconverter. For this purpose, thick GEMs have been characterised in detail including the gain performance, its dependance on the geometrical parameters and its time-evolution, a feature exhibited by the gas detectors with open insulator surfaces. Combined Bulk and Surface Radiation Damage Effects at Very High Fluences in Silicon Detectors: Measurements and TCAD Simulations / F. Moscatelli (CNR-IMM Bologna) ; D. In this work we propose a new combined TCAD radiation damage modelling scheme, featuring both bulk and surface radiation damage effects, for the analysis of silicon detectors aimed at the High Luminosity LHC. In particular, a surface damage model has been developed by introducing the relevant parameters (NOX, NIT) extracted from experimental measurements carried out on p-type substrate test structures after gamma irradiations at doses in the range 10-500 Mrad(Si). Investigation of beam self-polarization in the future e+e− circular collider / Gianfelice-Wendt, Eliana (Fermi National Accelerator Lab. (US))
The use of resonant depolarization has been suggested for precise beam energy measurements (better than 100 keV) in the eþe− Future Circular Collider (FCC-eþe−) for Z and WW physics at 45 and 80 GeV beam energy respectively. Longitudinal beam polarization would benefit the Z peak physics program; however it is not essential and therefore it will be not investigated here. [...]

Efficient twin aperture magnets for the future circular eþ=e collider / Milanese, Attilio (CERN)
We report preliminary designs for the arc dipoles and quadrupoles of the FCC-ee double-ring collider. After recalling cross sections and parameters of warm magnets used in previous large accelerators, we focus on twin aperture layouts, with a magnetic coupling between the gaps, which minimizes construction cost and reduces the electrical power required for operation. FRW Bulk Viscous Cosmology with Modified Chaplygin Gas in Flat Space / Saadat, H ; Pourhassan, B
In this paper we study FRW bulk viscous cosmology in presence of modified Chaplygin gas. We write modified Friedmann equations due to bulk viscosity and Chaplygin gas and obtain time-dependent energy density for the special case of flat space..

Interaction and charge transfer between dielectric spheres: exact and approximate analytical solutions / Lindén, Fredrik ; Cederquist, Henrik ; Zettergren, Henning
We present exact analytical solutions for charge transfer reactions between two arbitrarily charged hard dielectric spheres. These solutions, and the corresponding exact ones for sphere-sphere interaction energies, include sums that describe polarization effects to infinite orders in the inverse of the distance between the sphere centers. Analysis of scalar dissipation in terms of vorticity geometry in isotropic turbulence / Gonzalez, Michel
The mechanisms promoting scalar dissipation through scalar gradient production are scrutinized in terms of vorticity alignment with respect to strain principal axes. For that purpose, a stochastic Lagrangian model for the velocity gradient tensor and the scalar gradient vector is used. [...]
