Generalized Fick Jacobs Approach for describing Adsorption Desorption Kinetics in Irregular Pores under Non Equilibrium Conditions / Ledesma-Durán, Aldo ; Hernández-Hernández, Saúl Iván ; Santamaría-Holek, Iván We present a study exploring the range of applicability of a generalized Fick Jacobs equation in the case when diffusive mass transport of a fluid along a pore includes chemical reactions in the bulk and pore surface. The study contemplates nonequilibrium boundary conditions and makes emphasis on the comparison between the predictions coming from the projected Fick Jacobs description and the corresponding predictions of the original two dimensional mass balance equation, establishing a simple cuantitative criterion of validity of the projected description. Solution of the square lid-driven cavity flow of a Bingham plastic using the finite volume method / Syrakos, Alexandros ; Georgiou, Georgios C ; Alexandrou, Andreas N We investigate the performance of the finite volume method in solving viscoplastic flows. The creeping square lid-driven cavity flow of a Bingham plastic is chosen as the test case and the constitutive equation is regularised as proposed by Papanastasiou [J. Angular momentum and topological dependence of Kepler's Third Law in the Broucke-Hadjidemetriou-H\'enon family of periodic three-body orbits / Janković, Marija R ; Dmitrašinović, Veljko We use 57 recently found topological satellites of Broucke-Hadjidemetriou-Henon's periodic orbits with values of the topological exponent $k$ ranging from $k$ = 3 to $k$ = 58 to plot the angular momentum $L$ as a function of the period $T$, with both $L$ and $T$ rescaled to energy $E=-\frac12$. Upon plotting $L(T/k)$ we find that all our solutions fall on a curve that is virtually indiscernible by naked eye from the $L(T)$ curve for non-satellite solutions. CPT-symmetry studies with antihydrogen / Lehnert, Ralf Various approaches to physics beyond the Standard Model can lead to small violations of CPT invariance. Since CPT symmetry can be measured with ultrahigh precision, CPT tests offer an interesting phenomenological avenue to search for underlying physics. Differential geometric mechanisms in Ostrohrads'kyj relativistic spherical top dynamics / Matsyuk, R Ya Some intrinsic tools from the formal theory of variational equations are being demonstrated at work in application to one concrete example of the third-order evolution equation of free relativistic top in three-dimensional space-time. The main goal is to introduce a combined approach consisting in the simultaneous utilization of symmetry principles along with the inverse variational problem considerations in terms of vector-valued differential forms. The mass function method for obtaining exact solutions of Einstein equations / Korkina, Maria ; Kopteva, Elena We show that the mass function method makes it much easier to obtain the exact solutions of Einstein equations. The known solutions for empty space and for the universe filled with dust-like matter are considered from the point of view of the method and new exact solutions are obtained. Interpolation of the magnetic field at the test masses in eLISA / Mateos, I ; Díaz-Aguiló, M ; Ramos-Castro, J ; García-Berro, E ; Lobo, A A feasible design for a magnetic diagnostics subsystem for eLISA will be based on that of its precursor mission, LISA Pathfinder. Previous experience indicates that magnetic field estimation at the positions of the test masses has certain complications. [...] arXiv:1604.08563.- 2016 - 14 p. - Published in : Class. Low-frequency noise characterization of a magnetic field monitoring system using an anisotropic magnetoresistance / Mateos, I ; Ramos-Castro, J ; Lobo, A A detailed study about magnetic sensing techniques based on anisotropic magnetoresistive sensors shows that the technology is suitable for low-frequency space applications like the eLISA mission. Low noise magnetic measurements at the sub-millihertz frequencies were taken by using different electronic noise reduction techniques in the signal conditioning circuit. Capture of planetesimals by waning circumplanetary gas disks / Suetsugu, Ryo ; Ohtsuki, Keiji When gas giant protoplanets grow sufficiently massive, circumplanetary disks would form. While solid bodies captured by the circumplanetary disks likely contribute to the growth of the planets and regular satellites around them, some of captured bodies would remain in planet-centered orbits after the dispersal of the disk. Theory of Thomson scattering in inhomogeneous media / Kozlowski, P M ; Crowley, B J B ; Gericke, D O ; Regan, S P ; Gregori, G Thomson scattering of laser light is one of the most fundamental diagnostics of plasma density, temperature and magnetic fields. It relies on the assumption that the properties in the probed volume are homogeneous and constant during the probing time. [...] arXiv:1604.08260.- 2016 - 18 p. - Published in : Sci.
