Particle production and collectivity in high-multiplicity pp and pPb collisions at the LHC with CMS / Stephans, George Stewart (MIT) /CMS Collaboration Recent unexpected evidence for collectivity in high multiplicity pp and pPb collisions at LHC energies has challenged the notion that such small systems do not exhibit any of the properties that have been used to study the quark gluon plasma in heavy ion collisions. An overview of recent results concerning particle production and collectivity in such collisions using the CMS detector at the LHC is presented.. CMS-CR-2017-363.- Geneva : CERN, 2017 - 5 p. Measurements of associated production of vector bosons and jets in CMS / Ahmad, Muhammad (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) /CMS Collaboration The most recent results of Standard Model physics using 8 and 13 TeV proton-proton collisions data recorded by CMS detector during the LHC Run I and II are reviewed. This overview includes studies of several results of vector boson production in association with jets. [...] CMS-CR-2017-362.- Geneva : CERN, 2017 - 7 p. Boosted Decision Trees in the CMS Level-1 Endcap Muon Trigger / CMS Collaboration The first implementation of Boosted Decision Trees (BDTs) inside a Level-1 trigger system at the LHC is presented. The Endcap Muon Track Finder (EMTF) at CMS uses BDTs to infer the momentum of muons in the forward region of the detector, based on 25 different variables. Measurement of high-mass dilepton production with the CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer / Shchelina, Ksenia (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) /CMS and TOTEM Collaborations The measurements of dilepton production in photon-photon fusion with the CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer (CT-PPS) are presented. For the first time, exclusive dilepton production at high masses have been observed in the CMS detector while one or two outgoing protons are measured in CT-PPS using around 10~${\rm fb}^{-1}$ of data accumulated in 2016 during high-luminosity LHC operation. The CMS Tracker upgrade for HL-LHC / Ahuja, Sudha (SAO_PAULO) /CMS Collaboration The LHC machine is planning an upgrade program which will smoothly bring the luminosity to about 5 $\times$ $10^{34}$cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ in 2028, to possibly reach an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ by the end of 2037. This High Luminosity LHC scenario, HL-LHC, will require a preparation program of the LHC detectors known as Phase-2 upgrade. [...] CMS-CR-2017-341.- Geneva : CERN, 2017 - 7 p. Searches for strong production of supersymmetry at ATLAS and CMS / Seitz, Claudia (Zurich U.) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations Searches for physics beyond the standard model are considered one of the corner stones of the physics program at the two multipurpose experiments, ATLAS and CMS, at the LHC. Both experiments have conducted numerous searches for new supersymmetric particles in a wide variety of final states at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 13$~TeV. Searches for diboson resonances in CMS / Huang, Huang (Peking U.) /CMS Collaboration A list of searches is presented for massive resonances decaying to WW, WZ, ZZ, WH, ZH and HH boson pairs in proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The data are taken at centre-of-mass energies of 13TeV, corresponding to respective integrated luminosities of 12.9/fb(ICHEP) and up to 35.9/fb. The results are interpreted in the context of heavy vector triplet and singlet models that mimic properties of composite-Higgs models predicting $W'$ and $Z'$ bosons decaying to WZ, WW, WH, and ZH bosons. A model with a bulk graviton that decays into WW and ZZ is also considered. Upper limits are set on the production cross section of the two models and no evidence is found for a signal..
