Characterisation of signal-induced noise in Hamamatsu R11265 Multianode Photomultiplier Tubes / LHCb Collaboration
Signal-induced noise is observed in Hamamatsu R11265 Multianode Photomultiplier Tubes, manifesting up to several microseconds after the single photoelectron response signal and localised in specific anodes. The mean number of noise pulses varies between devices, and shows significant dependence on the applied high-voltage. [...]

A parametrized Kalman filter for fast track fitting at LHCb / Billoir, Pierre (Paris U., VI-VII) ; De Cian, Michel (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Günther, Paul André (Heidelberg U.) ; Stemmle, Simon (Heidelberg U.)
We present an alternative implementation of the Kalman filter employed for track fitting within the LHCb experiment. It uses simple parametrizations for the extrapolation of particle trajectories in the field of the LHCb dipole magnet and for the effects of multiple scattering in the detector material. [...]

Muon identification is of paramount importance for the physics programme of LHCb. In the upgrade phase, starting from Run 3 of the LHC, the trigger of the experiment will be solely based on software. [...]

Measurement of the electron reconstruction efficiency at LHCb / LHCb Collaboration
The single electron track-reconstruction efficiency is determined using a sample corresponding to $1.3~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$of $pp$ collision data recorded with the LHCb detector in 2017. This measurement exploits $B^+\to J/\psi (e^+e^-)K^+$ decays, where one of the electrons is fully reconstructed and paired with the kaon, while the other electron is reconstructed using only the information of the vertex detector. Long-term Operation of the Multi-Wire-Proportional-Chambers of the LHCb Muon System / Albicocco, F.P. (Frascati) ; Anderlini, L. (INFN, Florence) ; Anelli, M. (Frascati) ; Archilli, F. The muon detector of LHCb, which comprises 1368 multi-wire-proportional-chambers (MWPC) for a total area of 435 m2, is the largest instrument of its kind exposed to such a high-radiation environment. In nine years of operation, from 2010 until 2018, we did not observe appreciable signs of ageing of the detector in terms of reduced performance. [...]

ALP-mediated decays and other as-yet unobserved $B$ decays to di-photon final states are a challenge to select in hadron collider environments due to the large backgrounds that come directly from the $pp$ collision. We present the strategy implemented by the LHCb experiment in 2018 to efficiently select such photon pairs. [...]
