$CP$ Violation in $b$- and $c$-hadron decays at LHCb / Steinkamp, Olaf (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) Testing the Standard Model of particle physics by precision measurements of CP violating observables in the decays of b and c hadrons has been one of the design goals of the LHCb experiment. World-leading measurements have been performed of the semileptonic asymmetry, $a^{sl}_s$, and of the mixing-induced CP-violating phase $\phi_s$ in the $B^0_s {\overline B}{}^0_s$ system. The early career, gender, and diversity actions within the LHCb Collaboration (poster) / Sciascia, Barbara (Istituto Nazionale Fisica Nucleare Frascati (IT)) ; Rademacker, Jonas (University of Bristol (GB)) Numerous surveys of modern particle physics indicate that the discipline is still largely a male pursuit, and one in which women and other marginalised groups continue to face discriminatory practices. The fraction of female particle physicists reduces with each career stage. [...] LHCb-PROC-2017-009; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2017-009.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 2. Prompt physics analysis from the trigger candidates at LHCb: strategy and new dedicated "TURBO" and PID calibration streams / Sciascia, Barbara (Istituto Nazionale Fisica Nucleare Frascati (IT)) During the first long shutdown of the LHC (2013-2014), the LHCb detector remained essentially unchanged, while the trigger system has been completely revised. Upgrades to the LHCb computing infrastructure have allowed for high quality decay information to be calculated by the software trigger, making separate offline event reconstruction unnecessary. Charmless $b$-meson and $b$-baryon decays at LHCb / Nasteva, Irina (Univ. Federal do Rio de Janeiro (BR)) The latest LHCb results for charmless $b$-meson and $b$-baryon decays, using Run I data collected by the LHCb experiment at centre-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, are presented. The search for charmless three-body decays of the $\Lambda_b^0$ and $\Xi_b^0$ baryons to the final states $\Lambda h^+h^{\prime -}$ ($h^{(\prime)} = \pi$ or $K$) results in the first observation of $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda K^+\pi^-$ and $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda K^+K^-$ decays and measurements of their branching fractions and \CP asymmetries, as well as evidence of the $\Lambda_b^0 \to \Lambda \pi^+\pi^-$ decay and limits on the branching fractions of $\Xi_b^0$ baryon decays. LHCb results in proton-nucleus collisions at the LHC / Mueller, Katharina (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) The forward acceptance of the LHCb detector allows it to probe proton-ion collisions in a unique kinematic range, complementary to the other LHC experiments. The production of $J/\Psi$ and $\Upsilon$-mesons decaying into two muons is studied at the LHCb experiment in proton-lead collisions at a proton-nucleon centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt sNN = 5 TeV$. QCD at colliders / Mueller, Katharina (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) Recent measurements from the ATLAS, CMS and LHCb collaborations are testing QCD with unprecedented precision and in a new energy regime. Inclusive jet, isolated photon, vector boson and heavy quark production cross section measurements are reported here including a selection of first results at the new frontier collision energy of 13 TeV.. Heavy Flavour and Quarkonia production at LHCb / Mueller, Katharina (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) The LHCb detector, with its excellent momentum resolution and flexible trigger strategy, is ideally suited for measuring heavy quark and quarkonia production properties. Recent LHCb measurements of inclusive and differential cross-sections of the production of $J/\psi=$ and $\Upsilon$ resonances, as well as charm, bottom and top quarks, in $pp$ collisions at different centre-of-mass energies are presented. Charmed baryons at LHCb / Naik, Paras (University of Bristol (GB)) The LHCb detector is an excellent instrument for studying the production and decay of charmed baryons in $pp$ collisions, due to efficient triggering mechanisms that capture the copious production of $c\overline{c}$ at the Large Hadron Collider. The LHCb experiment and its charmed baryon results from LHCb are detailed, with a description of our future plans [...] LHCb-PROC-2017-003; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2017-003.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 8. The LHCb Vertex Locator (VELO) Pixel Detector Upgrade / Buchanan, Emma (University of Bristol (GB)) The LHCb experiment is designed to perform high-precision measurements of CP violation and the decays of beauty and charm hadrons at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. There is a planned upgrade during Long Shutdown 2 (LS2), expected in 2019, which will allow the detector to run at higher luminosities by transforming the entire readout to a trigger-less system. Physics benchmarks of the VELO upgrade / Eklund, Lars (University of Glasgow (GB)) The LHCb Experiment at the LHC is successfully performing precision measurements primarily in the area of flavour physics. The collaboration is preparing an upgrade that will start taking data in 2021 with a trigger-less readout at five times the current luminosity.
