Fixed target measurements at LHCb for cosmic rays physics / Graziani, Giacomo (Universita e INFN, Firenze (IT)) The LHCb experiment has the unique possibility, among the LHC experiments, to be operated in fixed target mode, using its internal gas target. The energy scale achievable at the LHC, combined with the LHCb forward geometry and detector capabilities, allow to explore particle production in a wide Bjorken-$x$ range at the $\sqrt {s_{NN}} ~$ ~ 100 GeV energy scale, providing novel inputs to nuclear and cosmic ray physics. Commissioning of the LHCb detector with first data / Graziani, Giacomo (Universita e INFN, Firenze (IT)) We review the different steps of the commissioning work done to have the LHCb detectors ready for the first physics at the LHC. The performances of the different subsystems achieved with the first collision data are discussed.. LHCb-PROC-2018-004; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2018-004.- Geneva : CERN, 2018 - 4. Measurement of antiproton production in p-He collisions and prospects for other inputs to cosmic rays physics from the fixed target program of the LHCb experiment / Graziani, Giacomo (Universita e INFN, Firenze (IT)) The LHCb experiment has the unique possibility, among the LHC experiments, to be operated in fixed target mode, using its internal gas target SMOG. The energy scale achievable at the LHC and the excellent detector capabilities for vertexing, tracking and particle identification allow a wealth of measurements of great interest for cosmic ray physics. Search for the rare $K^0_S \to \mu^+ \mu^-$ decay / Graziani, Giacomo (Universita e INFN, Firenze (IT)) A search for the decay $K^0_S \to \mu^+ \mu^-$ is performed, based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{−1}$ of pp collisions at $\sqrt s = 7$ TeV collected by the LHCb ex- periment at the Large Hadron Collider. The observed number of candidates is consistent with the background–only hypothesis, yielding an upper limit of $\cal B(K_S^0 \to \mu^+ \mu^−) < 11(9) × 10^{−9}$ at $95~ (90) \%$ confidence level. Measurement of antiproton production in $p$–He collisions at LHCb to constrain the secondary cosmic antiproton flux / Graziani, Giacomo (Universita e INFN, Firenze (IT)) The flux of cosmic ray antiprotons is a powerful tool for indirect detection of dark matter. The sensitivity is limited by the uncertainty on the predicted antiproton flux from scattering of primary rays on the interstellar medium. CP violation in $b$ hadrons at LHCb / Hicheur, Adlene (Federal University of of Rio de Janeiro (BR)) The most recent results on $CP$ violation in b hadrons obtained by the LHCb Collaboration with Run I and years 2015-2016 of Run II are reviewed. The different types of violation are covered by the studies presented in this paper.. LHCb-PROC-2017-043; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2017-043.- Geneva : CERN, 2017 - 8. Tracking, Vertexing and data handling strategy for the LHCb upgrade / Seyfert, Paul (CERN) For Run III (2021 onwards) of the LHC, LHCb will take data at an instantaneous luminosity of $2 \times 10^{33} \mathrm{cm}^{-2} \mathrm{s}^{-1}$, five times higher than in Run II (2015-2018). To cope with the harsher data taking conditions, the LHCb collaboration will upgrade the DAQ system and install a purely software based trigger, in addition to various detector upgrades. LHCb Kalman filter cross architecture studies / Campora Perez, Daniel Hugo (Universidad de Sevilla (ES)) The 2020 upgrade of the LHCb detector will vastly increase the rate of collisions the Online system needs to process in software, in order to filter events in real time. 30 million collisions per second will pass through a selection chain, where each step is executed conditional to its prior acceptance. $\Upsilon(nS)$ polarizations in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 7 and 8 TeV by the LHCb collaboration / Artamonov, Alexander (Institute for High Energy Physics (RU)) /on behalf of the LHCb Collaboration A polarization measurement carried out for the $\Upsilon(1S)$, $\Upsilon(2S)$ and $\Upsilon(3S)$ mesons produced in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$ 7 and 8 TeV is presented. Data samples used for the polarization measurement were collected by the LHCb experiment during the 2011 and 2012 data taking runs with integrated luminosities of 1 and 2 fb$^{-1}$, respectively. Rare B decays at LHCb / Puig Navarro, Albert (Universitaet Zuerich (CH)) Rare decays are flavour changing neutral current processes that allow sensitive searches for phenomena beyond the Standard Model (SM). In the SM, rare decays are loop-suppressed and new particles in SM extensions can give significant contributions. [...] LHCb-PROC-2017-039; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2017-039.- Geneva : CERN, 2017 - 6.
