Non, la mise en place d'un réseau d'information mondial, fondé sur des normes universelles, est bel et bien le fruit de la recherche publique : Internet est le produit indirect des universités et laboratoires qui non seulement ont inventé la technologie, mais - fait plus rare - l'ont déployée en un réseau mondial opérationnel, au service des chercheurs..
