Hyperfine structure and nuclear magnetic moments of the praseodymium isotopes {135,136,137}^Pr / IS517 Collaboration
Collinear laser spectroscopy was applied to measure the hyperfine structure of {135−137}^Pr at ISOLDE/CERN. Combined with measurements of the stable isotope {141}^Pr at the TRIGA-SPEC setup in Mainz we were able to determine the magnetic moments of the neutron-deficient isotopes {135}^Pr, {136}^Pr and {137}^Pr for the first time..

$Q_{\textrm{EC}}$-value determination for $^{21}$Na$\rightarrow^{21}$Ne and $^{23}$Mg$\rightarrow^{23}$Na mirror-nuclei decays using high-precision mass spectrometry with ISOLTRAP at ISOLDE/CERN / Karthein, J. (CERN ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Atanasov, D. (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Blaum, K. (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Breitenfeldt, M. (CERN) ; Bondar, V. (Leuven U.) ; George, Sebastian ; Hayen, L. (Leuven U.) ; Lunney, D. (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Manea, V. (CERN) ; Mougeot, M. (CSNSM, Orsay) et al.
We report on high-precision $Q_{\textrm{EC}}$ values of the $^{21}$Na$\rightarrow^{21}$Ne and $^{23}$Mg$\rightarrow^{23}$Na mirror $\beta$-transitions from mass measurements with ISOLTRAP at ISOLDE/CERN. A precision of $\delta m/m = 9 \cdot 10^{-10}$ and $\delta m/m = 1.5 \cdot 10^{-9}$ was reached for the masses of $^{21}$Na and $^{23}$Mg, respectively. [...]

Lattice location study of low-fluence ion-implanted 124In in 3C-SiC / Costa, A. R. G. ; Wahl, U. ; Correia, J. G. ; David-Bosne, E. ; Augustyns, V. ; Lima, T. A. L. ; Silva, D. J. ; da Silva, M. R. ; Bharuth-Ram, K. ; Pereira, L. M. C.
We report on the lattice location of low-fluence ion implanted 124In in single-crystalline 3C-SiC by means of the emission channeling technique using radioactive isotopes produced at the ISOLDE/CERN facility. In the sample implanted at room temperature to a fluence of 4 × 1012 cm−2, 60(9)% of the In atoms were found slightly displaced (0.12–0.20 Å) from substitutional Si sites, with the remainder occupying sites of low crystallographic symmetry, the so-called random sites. Time-of-Flight study of molecular beams extracted from the ISOLDE RFQ cooler and buncher / Ringvall Moberg, A. ; Warren, S. ; Muñoz Pequeño, C. ; Cruikshank, J. ; Giles, T. ; Hanstorp, D.
Molecular beams injected into the ISOLDE Radio-Frequency Quadrupole cooler and buncher (RFQcb), ISCOOL, have been studied under varying conditions using a new Time-of-Flight (ToF) detector. When a beam of molecules is injected into the RFQcb and interacts with the buffer gas, collisional dissociation processes may occur. [...]

Magnetic field at Ce impurities in La sites of La0.5Ba0.5MnO3 double perovskites / B. Bosch-Santos ; N. M. Nascimento, M. Saiki, E. L. Correa, T. S. N. Sales, L. F. D. Pereira, G. A. Cabrera-Pasca, R. N. Saxena, J. Schell, and A. W. Carbonari /IS652 Collaboration
Due to its rich variety of electromagnetic properties, such as a colossal magnetoresistance, charge and orbital ordering, and metal-insulator transition, the magnetic behavior in La0.5Ba0.5MnO3 double perovskite compounds has been investigated by several techniques, however more experimental data, especially from atomic resolution techniques, are still necessary to understand such complex behavior. In this paper, we have used a nuclear and short-range technique, the Perturbed Angular Correlation (PAC) spectroscopy, to investigate the magnetic hyperfine interaction at the 140Ce and 111Cd probe nuclei as impurities occupying La sites. Using radioactive isotopes produced at the CERN-ISOLDE facility, the lattice location of the implanted transition metal (TM) ions $^56$Mn, $^59$Fe and $^65$Ni in n-type single-crystalline hexagonal 6H-SiC was studied by means of the emission channeling technique. TM probes on carbon coordinated tetrahedral interstitial sites ($T_C$) and on substitutional silicon sites ($S_{Si,h+k}$) were identified. [...]

We present an ultra sensitive method to quantify the uptake of Hg by dithiocarbamate functionalized magnetic nanoparticles using radioactive tracker spectroscopy. We show a lower limit of detection of about 10 fg L-1, much lower than any other known techniques used to determine the uptake of Hg (about 104 more sensitive), without the need of digesting or processing the sorption agent.
