Measurement of azimuthal correlations among jets and determination of the strong coupling in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13~\mathrm{TeV}$ /CMS Collaboration
A measurement is presented of the ratio observable $R_{\Delta\phi}(p_\mathrm{T})$ that provides a measure of the azimuthal correlations among jets with large transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}$. The $R_{\Delta\phi}(p_\mathrm{T})$ variable is defined as the ratio of the number of neighbouring jets in events with a 3-jet topology, enforced through an azimuthal angular separation of $2\pi/3<\Delta\phi<7\pi/8$, over the number of inclusive jets within the same jet $p_\mathrm{T}$ bin. Measurements of the light-by-light scattering and the Breit--Wheeler processes, and searches for axion-like particles in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$ /CMS Collaboration
Measurements of the light-by-light scattering (LbL, $\gamma\gamma\to\gamma\gamma$) and the Breit--Wheeler (B--W, $\gamma\gamma\to\mathrm{e}^+\mathrm{e}^-$) processes are reported in ultraperipheral PbPb collisions at a centre-of-mass energy per nucleon pair of 5.02 TeV using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1.65~\mathrm{nb}^{-1}$. Events with a pair of exclusively produced photons or $\mathrm{e}^+\mathrm{e}^-$ are selected, each with transverse energy $E_\mathrm{T}^{\gamma,\mathrm{e}}>2~\mathrm{GeV}$, pseudorapidity $|\eta^{\gamma,\mathrm{e}}|<2.2$, pair invariant mass $m^{\gamma\gamma,\mathrm{ee}}> 5~\mathrm{GeV}$, pair transverse momentum $p_\mathrm{T}^{\gamma\gamma,\mathrm{ee}}<1~\mathrm{GeV}$, and pair azimuthal acoplanarity $A_\phi<0.01$. The measurement of the production cross section of a Z boson and a photon in the final state with one photon and large missing transverse momentum, and a search for the presence of neutral anomalous triple gauge couplings are presented. The results are based on data collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13~\mathrm{TeV}$ during the 2016, 2017, and 2018 LHC running periods, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $138~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. Energy scaling behavior of intrinsic transverse momentum in Drell-Yan events /CMS Collaboration
We present an analysis of intrinsic transverse momentum by studying the dilepton transverse momentum in Drell-Yan events. Utilizing widely adopted event generators and data from fixed-target experiments, the Tevatron, and the LHC, our investigation spans three orders of magnitude in center-of-mass energy and two orders of magnitude in dilepton invariant mass.
