The degradation of signal in silicon sensors is studied under conditions expected at the CERN High-Luminosity LHC. 200~$\mu$m thick n-type silicon sensors are irradiated with protons of different energies to fluences of up to $3 \cdot 10^{15}$~neq/cm$^2$. Pulsed red laser light with a wavelength of 672~nm is used to generate electron-hole pairs in the sensors. [...]

Impact of low-dose electron irradiation on $n^+p$ silicon strip sensors / The CMS Tracker Collaboration
The response of $n^+p$ silicon strip sensors to electrons from a $^{90}$Sr source was measured using a multi-channel read-out system with 25\,ns sampling time. Detailed knowledge of the radiation environment in which the CMS detector has to operate at the Large Hadron Collider is vital to ensure safe operation of the detector and to maintain the desired performance quality. Therefore, we have carried out Monte Carlo simulation studies using MARS code to estimate particle fluxes and radiation dose in the CMS silicon pixel and strip trackers as well as in the surrounding detector subsystems from proton-proton collisions, beam-gas and beam halo interactions, and for some LHC beam accident scenarios. CMS at the High-Energy Frontier. Contribution to the Update of the European Strategy for Particle Physics /CMS Collaboration
We present a study of the physics potential of the upgraded CMS detector in Higgs physics, searches for new physics, top, and electroweak physics in three scenarios: the LHC (300 fb$^{-1}$ at 14 TeV), HL--LHC (3000 fb$^{-1}$ at 14 TeV), and HE--LHC (300 fb$^{-1}$ at 33 TeV). We also discuss the potential to reduce the PDF uncertainties, which at the moment the limiting systematics for many of these studies. [...]
