Charged particle detection performance of gas electron multiplier detector for the upgrade of CMS endcap muon system at the CERN LHC /CMS Collaboration
The CMS detector is one of two general-purpose detectors at the CERN LHC. LHC will provide exceptional high instantaneous and integrated luminosities after second long shutdown. [...]

Muon performance in early 2016 collision data /CMS Collaboration
We present the performance of muon reconstruction and identification with a dataset up to 0.9 1/fb of data collected during the 2016 LHC proton-proton run at 13 TeV. The first part of the document includes invariant mass distributions computed in the proximity of quarkonia resonances. The second part reports on muon reconstruction, identification and isolation efficiencies computed with the tag-and-probe method..

Pre-LHCP 2016 L1 muon trigger performance /CMS Collaboration
For the 2016 data-taking, the CMS Level-1 trigger has been significantly upgraded to deal with the higher instantaneous luminosity and average number of pile-up events. The performance of the new Level-1 muon trigger achieved in the first half of 2016 are presented here..

Resistive Plate Chambers commissioning and performance results for 2015 /CMS Collaboration
The Resistive Plate Chamber (RPC) detector system at the Compact Muon Solenoid experiment at the LHC confers robustness and redundancy to the muon trigger. During the first long shutdown of the LHC (2013-2014) the CMS muon RPC system has been upgraded with 144 double-gap chambers on the forth forward stations. [...]

Tau identification for Run-2 and its performance with 2015 data /CMS Collaboration
The CMS hadrons-plus-strips (HPS) algorithm that was developed to reconstruct tau leptons in their hadronic decays demonstrated a good performance in the LHC Run-1; the algorithm achieves an identification efficiency of 50--60$\mathrm{\%}$ with a probability for quark and gluon jets, electrons, and muons to be misidentified as $\tau$~lepton between per cent and per mille levels. In this note improvements to the HPS algorithm for the LHC Run-2 are presented. [...]
