CMS inner detector: the Run 1 to Run 2 transition, and first experience of Run 2 / Lange, Clemens (Zurich U.) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS inner detector is the largest silicon tracker ever built. Located around the center of CMS where the LHC particle beams are brought into collision, it consists of a hybrid pixel detector with 66 million channels and a 200~m$^2$ silicon strip detector with about 10~million readout channels. [...]

Latest results on jet and photon production from the LHC / Ocalan, Kadir (Middle East Tech. U., Ankara) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Latest results on jet and photon production from the ATLAS and CMS experiments are discussed. We mainly review the measurements of cross sections, determination of strong coupling constant, and constraints on parton distribution functions from different results on jet production. [...]

The Phase 1 upgrade of the CMS pixel detector / Caminada, Lea Michaela (Zurich U.) /CMS Collaboration
The present CMS pixel detector will be replaced with an upgraded pixel system in the LHC winter shutdown 2016/2017. The design of the upgraded CMS pixel detector allows to cope with the higher peak luminosities expected in the coming years, and in particular after the next LHC shutdown. [...]

Design and performance of the upgrade of the CMS L1 muon trigger / Bortignon, Pierluigi (Florida U.) /CMS Collaboration
After the Long Shutdown 1 (LS1) LHC will run at a center of mass energy of 13TeV, providing CMS with proton collisions at an expected luminosity which is almost double the LHC design value of $10^{34} \text{cm}^{-2}\text{s}^{-1}$, and almost three times the peak luminosity reached during Run1 of $7.7\cdot10^{33} \text{cm}^{-2}\text{s}^{-1}$. The higher luminosity and center of mass energy of the LHC will raise the Level 1 (L1) muon trigger rate by almost a factor six for a given muon transverse momentum $\text{p}_{\text{T}}$ threshold. Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors as flatness and mechanical stretching sensors / Benussi, Luigi (Frascati) /CMS Collaboration
Fibre Bragg Grating (FBG) sensors have been so far mainly used in high energy physics as high precision positioning and re-positioning sensor and as low cost, easy to mount and low space consuming temperature sensors. FBGs are also commonly used for very precise strain measurements. [...]

A new on-line luminometer and beam conditions monitor using single crystal diamond sensors / Karacheban, Olena (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
Instrumentation near the beam-pipe requires extremely radiation hardsensors. Inside CMS two rings instrumented with 12 single crystal diamondsensors each are installed on both sides of the interaction point. [...]

The CMS Pixel Luminosity Telescope / Kornmayer, Andreas (Karlsruhe U., EKP) /CMS Collaboration
The Pixel Luminosity Telescope is a new complement to the CMS detector for the LHC Run II data taking period. It consists of eight 3-layer telescopes based on silicon pixel detectors that are placed around the beam pipe on each end of CMS viewing the interaction point at small angle. [...]

Bose-Einstein correlations in various collision systems and energies measured with the CMS experiment / Padula, Sandra (SAO_PAULO) /CMS Collaboration
Two-particle, quantum-statistical (Bose-Einstein) correlations are measured with the CMS experiment in pp collisions at 0.9, 2.76 and 7 TeV center-of-mass energies, as well as in pPb and peripheral PbPb collisions, respectively at 5.02 and 2.76 TeV center-of-mass energy per nucleon. The analysis is performed as a function of both the charged particle multiplicity and the average transverse pair momentum. [...]
