Higgs production in the VH mode at ATLAS and CMS / Mastrolorenzo, Luca (Aachen, Tech. Hochsch.) /ATLAS, CMS and Higgs collaborations In these proceedings, the key role played by the Higgs boson associated production (VH) mode in the characterization of the electroweak spontaneous symmetry breaking mechanism is described through a review of the latest results from the ATLAS and CMS experiments obtained with the data collected during LHC Run 2. A focus is given to the recent discovery of the Higgs boson decay to a bottom quark-antiquark pair by ATLAS and CMS achieved through the analysis of the additional data collected during 2017. Searches for non-resonant HH production at CMS / Cappati, Alessandra (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) /CMS Collaboration The most recent results from searches for non-resonant production of Higgs boson pairs~(HH) at CMS are presented. Four final states have been studied, with data collected at $\sqrt{s}=13\,\mathrm{TeV}$ in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $35.9\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. The CMS Muon System performance during the LHC Run-2 / Pozzobon, Nicola (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) /CMS Collaboration A highly performing muon system has been fundamental to achieve many of the physics results obtained by CMS during the LHC Run-2. The CMS muon spectrometer presently consists of three detector technologies covering different regions of pseudorapidity. [...] CMS-CR-2019-133.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 10 p. Firmware Upgrade of the CMS Phase-1 Pixel Front-End Controller: Impact on Pixel Operation and DAQ / Modak, Atanu (Kansas State U.) /CMS Collaboration The Pixel Front-End Controller of the CMS Phase-1 Pixel detector is responsible for programming the front-end chips and distributing the trigger, clock and fast signals to the detector modules. An upgrade of the Pixel FEC firmware was undertaken and was successfully integrated into the online software. [...] CMS-CR-2019-081.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 5 p. $\alpha_{\rm s}$ determinations from CMS / Rabbertz, Klaus (KIT, Karlsruhe, EKP) /CMS Collaboration Significant progress in experimental and theoretical techniques allow a determination of the strong coupling constant $\alpha_{\rm s}$ from proton-proton collisions with much improved precision. Results of the CMS experiment at the LHC are reviewed, which are based on measurements of jet and of top-quark pair production.. CMS-CR-2019-047.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 6 p. Study of rare decays at CMS / Wang, Dayong (Peking U.) /CMS Collaboration Rare decays of heavy flavors and tau leptons could be very sensitive probes for searching for new physics. This presentation summarizes some recent CMS results on rare decays with different data sets. [...] CMS-CR-2019-135.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 5 p. UNDERSTANDING THE BEAM EMITTANCE EVOLUTION DURING STABLE BEAMS BASED ON EMITTANCE SCANS / Karacheban, Olena (CERN) /CMS Collaboration High-luminosity production at the LHC is closely linked to the size of the transverse beam emittance. However emittance measurement is challenging. [...] CMS-CR-2019-238.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 8 p. Fulltext: PDF; In : LHC Lumi Days 2019, Cern, Switzerland, 4 - 5 Jun 2019

Results and prospects with the CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer / Forthomme, Laurent Marie C (Helsinki U.) /CMS and TOTEM Collaborations With more than 100 fb$^{-1}$ recorded during LHC run 2 (2016-2018), the joint CMS-TOTEM Precision Proton Spectrometer (CT-PPS) has started to deliver its first physics results.Located between 200 and 220 m on each side from the CMS detector, it aims the detection of forward scattered protons emerging intact from the interaction, as for instance in central exclusive processes (CEP).In this proceeding we describe in details the search for two-photon production of a lepton pair performed with the first 10 fb$^{-1}$.With this result, it has proved for the first time the feasibility of operating near-beam detectors close to the LHC beams under nominal luminosity conditions. In addition, we describe the potential for future physics prospects in preparation to the run 3 of the LHC.. Design of the CMS upgraded trigger from Phase I to Phase II of the LHC / Jeitler, Manfred (Vienna, OAW) /CMS Collaboration The CMS experiment implements a sophisticated two-level triggering system composed of the Level-1, instrumented by custom-design hardware boards, and the High Level Trigger, a streamlined version of the offline reconstruction software running on a computer farm (more than 30k CPU cores). In 2017, the LHC delivered proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV with a peak instantaneous luminosity larger than $2 \cdot 10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$, more than twice the peak luminosity reached during Run1 and far larger than the design value. Search for the Higgs boson in the associated vector boson production mode where the vector boson decays leptonically and the Higgs boson decays to a pair of bottom quarks / Gedia, Krunal (Zurich, ETH) /CMS Collaboration A measurement of the Higgs-beauty quark coupling through the Higgs boson production associated with a Z or W boson where the W/Z boson decays leptonically and the Higgs boson to a pair of bottom quarks is presented. The analysis is based on 41.3 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ data from proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=$13 TeV collected by CMS in 2017. [...] CMS-CR-2019-249.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 6 p.
