High rate capability and radiation tolerance of the new CMS pixel detector readout chip PROC600 / Starodumov, Andrey (Zurich, ETH) ; Berger, Pirmin (Zurich, ETH) ; Meinhard, Maren Tabea (Zurich, ETH) /CMS Collaboration The first layer of the CMS Phase~1 pixel detector will be located at a distance of 3\,cm from the interaction point. Pixel hit rates up to 600\,MHz/cm$^2$ are expected at the instantaneous luminosity of 2$\times10^{34}$\,cm$^{-2}$\,s$^{-1}$ foreseen by LHC in the coming years. Implementation of the data acquisition system for the Overlap Modular Track Finder in the CMS experiment / CMS Collaboration The CMS experiment is currently undergoing the upgrade of its trigger, including the Level-1 muon trigger. In the barrel-endcap transition region the Overlap Muon Track Finder (OMTF) combines data from three types of detectors (RPC, DT, and CSC) to find the muon candidates. To monitor the operation of the OMTF, it is important to receive the data which were the basis for the trigger decision. QCD Physics (CMS) / Cerci, Salim (Cukurova U.) /CMS Collaboration Jets which are the signatures of quarks and gluons in the detector can be described by Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) in terms of parton-parton scattering. Jets are abundantly produced at the LHC's high energy scales. [...] CMS-CR-2016-253.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 10 p. Operational Experience with the CMS Pixel Detector / Karancsi, Janos (Debrecen, Inst. Nucl. Res.) /CMS Collaboration The CMS pixel detector was repaired successfully, calibrated and commissioned for the second run of Large Hadron Collider during the first long shutdown between 2013 and 2015. The replaced pixel modules were calibrated separately and show the expected behavior of an un-irradiated detector. [...] CMS-CR-2016-252.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 12 p. Upgrade of the CMS Tracker for the High Luminosity LHC / Auzinger, Georg (CERN) /CMS Collaboration The LHC machine is planning an upgrade program which will smoothly bring the luminosity to about $5 \times 10^{34}$cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ in 2028, possibly reaching an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ by the end of 2037. This High Luminosity LHC scenario, HL-LHC, will require a preparation program of the LHC detectors known as Phase-2 Upgrade. [...] CMS-CR-2016-268.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 8 p. Phase 1 Front-End CMS Calorimeter (HE) Upgrade Preparation / Bunin, Pavel (Dubna, JINR) /CMS Collaboration Preparation of HE Phase 1 Front-End upgrade is shown. For the final quality control of the new generation HE front-end electronics components a Burn-in stand has been prepared. [...] CMS-CR-2016-265.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 6 p. The Phase1 CMS Pixel detector upgrade / Tavolaro, Vittorio Raoul (Zurich, ETH) /CMS Collaboration The pixel detector of the CMS experiment will be replaced in an extended end-of-year shutdown during winter 2016/2017 with an upgraded one able to cope with peak instantaneous luminosities beyond the nominal LHC instantaneous luminosity of $1 \times 10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$. Under the conditions expected in the coming years, which will see an increase of a factor two in instantaneous luminosity, the present system would experience a dynamic inefficiency caused mainly by data losses due to buffer overflows. Diphoton searches (CMS) / Quittnat, Milena Eleonore (Zurich, ETH) /CMS Collaboration Many physics scenarios beyond the standard model predict the existence of heavy resonances decaying to diphotons. This talk presents searches for BSM physics in the diphoton final state at CMS, focusing on the recent results.. CMS-CR-2016-251.- Geneva : CERN, 2016 - 13 p.
