Impact of the GE1/1 station on the performance of the muon system in CMS / Magnani, Alice (INFN, Pavia) /CMS Collaboration
In 2018 a new muon station based on Gas Electron Multipliers will be installed in the CMS experiment. The present work sums up the main results obtained to evaluate the impact of this upgrade on the muon trigger rate and on muon reconstruction..

A new analysis data format for CMS / Petrucciani, Giovanni (CERN) ; Rizzi, Andrea (INFN, Pisa ; Pisa U.) ; Vuosalo, Carl Onni Urho (Wisconsin U., Madison) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS experiment has developed a new analysis object formats (mini-AOD) targeting approximately 10\pct of the size of the Run 1 AOD format. The motivation for the Mini-AOD format is to have a small and quickly derived data format from which the majority of CMS analysis users can start their analysis work. [...]

Search for Neutral MSSM Higgs Bosons in the Di-Tau channel at the CMS experiment at LHC. / Dewanjee, Ram Krishna (Tata Inst.) /CMS Collaboration
With the recent discovery of the SM (Standard Model) higgs boson of mass around 125 GeV by the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) and the ATLAS (A Toroidal LHC Apparatus) collaborations at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN, there have been attempts to interpret this newly discovered resonance in the context of BSM (Beyond Standard Model) physics scenarios. Results are presented for the search for Neutral MSSM (Mininal SuperSymmetric Standard Model) higgs bosons where the higgs decays to two $\tau$-leptons using the full Run-1 dataset collected by the CMS experiment. [...]

ASSEMBLY and CHARACTERIZATION OF RESISTIVE PLATE CHAMBERS IN INDIA FOR THE CMS DETECTOR / Kumar, Ramandeep (Panjab U.) /CMS Collaboration
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment is a general purpose detector being operated at Large Hadron Collider (LHC) facility at CERN. The RE4 upgrade project was envisaged to improve the Level-1 trigger efficiency in the forward region, when LHC would run at its full designed energy and luminosity after the first Long Shutdown (LS-1, 2013-2014). Tau reconstruction and identification with upgraded CMS detector at LHC. / Kalsi, Amandeep Kaur (Panjab U.) /CMS Collaboration
Tau leptons appear in the final state of many important physics processessuch as decay of the Higgs boson, supersymmetric particles and additionalheavy gauge bosons corresponding to a new symmetry. Thus tau leptonsplay very important role in LHC physics programme at all energies. [...]

Beyond Standard Model Higgs Boson Physics \\ at the CMS Experiment / Choudhury, Somnath (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
Searches for Beyond Standard Model (BSM) Higgs bosons at the CMS experiment are presented. The analyses are based on proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC at CERN at 7~TeV and 8~TeV centre-of-mass energies in the years 2011 and 2012 respectively, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of up to 25~fb$^{-1}$. Double parton scattering studies via di-boson processes using the CMS detector at LHC / Mehta, Ankita (Panjab U.) /CMS Collaboration
In high energy hadron-hadron collision, there is a finite probability for Double Parton Scattering (DPS), i.e., simultaneous occurrence of two short-range parton-parton scatterings in a single collision producing the same final state as in a single parton scattering (SPS). It is important to have an estimate of the DPS fraction as well as the effective cross section for specific final states in proton-proton collisions at LHC. [...]

Study of the double parton scattering via W + 2-jet process using the CMS detector at LHC / Kumar, Ramandeep (Panjab U.) /CMS Collaboration
Two hard parton-parton interactions in a single proton-proton (pp) collision lead to double parton scattering (DPS). We investigate DPS in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV where the final state includes a W boson, which decays into a muon and a neutrino, and two jets. [...]

\title{CO$_2$ evaporative cooling: the future for tracking detector thermal management} / Tropea, Paola (CERN) ; Daguin, Jerome (CERN) ; Petagna, Paolo (CERN) ; Postema, Willem Johannes (CERN) ; Bart Verlaat ; Lukasz Zwalinski
\begin{abstract} In the last few years, CO$_2$ evaporative cooling has been one of the favourite technologies chosen for the thermal management of tracking detectors at LHC. ATLAS Insertable B-Layer and CMS Pixel phase 1 upgrade have adopted it and their systems are now operational or under commissioning [...]
