Hunting for narrow resonances in the dijet mass spectrum at CMS / Diamantopoulou, Melpomeni (Athens U.) /CMS Collaboration
Results from the Dijet Resonance Search using data from 2016 and 2017 running will be shown, with emphasis on narrow resonances, for resonance masses above 1.6 TeV and a variety of new physics models used for the interpretation of the experimental results. The traditional method of estimating the QCD background is used, employing a parametrization for the background and an empirical fit of the data in the signal region..

Searches for long-lived particles with CMS / Kutzner, Viktor Gerhard (Hamburg U.) /CMS Collaboration
The current status of the searches for exotic, long-lived particles with the CMS experiment at $\sqrt{s}=13$~TeV is presented. Many theories beyond the Standard Model predict long-lived particles, for which different search approaches are utilized from those used in prompt searches. [...]

Search for Z' gauge boson predicted by lepton flavor and lepton flavor universality violating models with the CMS experiment at LHC / Kalsi, Amandeep Kaur (Brussels U.) /CMS Collaboration
The standard model conserves lepton flavor and lepton flavor universality although these do not follow from an underlying gauge symmetry. However, the discovery of neutrino oscillations and anomalies observed in B-meson decays indicate violation of lepton flavor and lepton flavor universality, respectively. [...]

Precision Timing with the CMS MIP Timing Detector / Pena, Cristian (Fermilab) /CMS Collaboration
The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is undergoing an extensive Phase II upgrade program to prepare for the challenging conditions of the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). A new timing layer is designed to measure minimum ionizing particles (MIPs) with a time resolution of ~30ps and hermetic coverage up to a pseudo-rapidity of $\vert \eta \vert$ = 3. [...]

New results on collectivity in small systems with CMS / Milosevic, Jovan (VINCA Inst. Nucl. Sci., Belgrade) /CMS Collaboration
The elliptic ($\upsilon_{2}$) flow of prompt D$^{0}$ mesons, together with K$^{0}_{S}$, $\Lambda$, $\Xi$, and $\Omega$ in high-multiplicity pPb collisions at 8.16~TeV, is presented. The data are collected with the CMS detector at the LHC from the rapidity interval $-1.46 < y_{cm} < 0.54$ and transverse momentum range 1.5 $< \mathrm{p_{T}} <$ 8~GeV. [...]

Experimental results using the decay of the Higgs to taus and muons / Meyer, Mareike (DESY) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Precise measurements of the Higgs boson Yukawa couplings provide important tests of the Standard Model of particle physics. This review summarizes the current status of the analyses performed by the ATLAS and CMS experiments that search for the Higgs boson decay into a pair of muons. [...]

SEARCHES FOR DARK MATTER PARTICLES AT THE LHC / Felcini, Marta (University Coll., Dublin) /ATLAS ,CMS and SUSY Collaborations
The searches for new particles that could be constituents of the dark matter in the universe are an essential part of the physics program of the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider. An overview of recent dark matter candidate searches is presented with a focus on new results obtained by the ATLAS and CMS experiments from the analysis of the proton-proton collision data at 13 TeV center-of-mass energy collected in the first part of Run 2..

Measurements of the Yukawa couplings of the Higgs boson at CMS / Missiroli, Marino (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
The latest results on the measurement of the Higgs boson couplings to fermions with the CMS detector are reported. Most of these results are based on proton-proton collisions data at $\sqrt{s}=13~\text{TeV}$ recorded in 2016 for an integrated luminosity of $35.9~\text{fb}^{-1}$; in some cases, the combination with Run-1 data at $\sqrt{s}=7~\text{TeV}$ and $\sqrt{s}=8~\text{TeV}$ is also included. Design and object performance of the CMS High Granularity Calorimeter Level 1 trigger / Strebler, Thomas (Imperial Coll., London) /CMS Collaboration
The high luminosity (HL) LHC will pose significant detector challenges for radiation tolerance and event pileup, especially for forward calorimetry, and this will provide a benchmark for future hadron colliders. The CMS experiment has chosen a novel high granularity calorimeter (HGCAL) for the forward region as part of its planned Phase 2 upgrade for the HL-LHC. [...]

Latest results on VBF and VBS processes from CMS experiment / Chernyavskaya, Nadezda (Zurich, ETH) /CMS Collaboration
The latest measurements of the Vector Boson Fusion (VBF) and Vector Boson Scattering (VBS) processes from the CMS experiment are presented, using 36~\fb data collected in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV at the LHC. The measured total cross sections are compared to the theoretical predictions and limits are set on the presence of anomalous triple and quartic gauge couplings..
