Operational Experience with Radioactive Source Calibration of the CMS Hadron Endcap Calorimeter Wedges with Phase I Upgrade Electronics / Bilki, Burak (Iowa U.) /CMS Collaboration
The Phase I Upgrade of the CMS Hadron Endcap Calorimeters consists of new photodetectors and front-end electronics. The upgrade will allow the elimination of the high amplitude noise and drifting response of the Hybrid Photo-Diodes, at the same time enabling the mitigation of the radiation damage of the scintillators and the wavelength shifting fibers with a larger spectral acceptance of the Silicon Photomultipliers. Search for H $\to$ b$\bar{\text{b}}$ in association with a single top quark at CMS / Muller, Denise (KIT, Karlsruhe, EKP) /CMS Collaboration
A search for the production of a Higgs boson in association with a single top quark (tH) is performed using the decay H $\to$ b$\bar{\text{b}}$. This Higgs boson production mode is sensitive to the coupling modifiers of the Higgs boson to top quarks ($\kappa_{\text{t}}$) and to weak gauge bosons ($\kappa_{\text{V}}$) and thus can be used to lift the degeneracy regarding the sign of the top quark Yukawa coupling. Search for rare and exotic Higgs Boson decay modes / Tao, Junquan (Beijing, Inst. High Energy Phys.) /CMS Collaboration
The latest results in the search for rare and exotic Higgs boson decays in proton-proton collision events collected with the CMS detector at the LHC are presented. The searches are performed for several decay modes of Higgs boson including $\mathrm{H}\rightarrow{\rm X (X \rightarrow2$l$)\gamma}$ ($X= {\rm Z}, \gamma^* $ and $l={\rm e},\mu$), $\mathrm{H}\rightarrow{ \mu\mu / {\rm e}{\rm e}}$, invisible decays, lepton flavour violating decays and Higgs decay to light scalars or pseudo-scalars. Various recent CMS B physics results are reported, including measurement of B hadron lifetimes; observation of $\Upsilon\mathrm{(1S)}$ pair production; angular analysis of the rare decay $\mathrm{B}^0\rightarrow\mathrm{K}^{*0}\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$; search for X(5568) state. The upgrades of the LHC planned in the next years will increase the instantaneous luminosity up to $5x10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ after Long Shutdown 3, a value about five times higher than the nominal one for which the CMS experiment was designed. The resulting larger rate of interactions will produce a higher pileup environment that will challenge the trigger system of the CMS experiment in its original configuration, in particular in the endcap region.
