The CMS Tracker Upgrade for the High Luminosity LHC / Delcourt, Martin (Louvain U.) /CMS Collaboration The LHC machine is planning an upgrade program which will smoothly bring the luminosity to about $5\times10^{34}$cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$ in 2028, to possibly reach an integrated luminosity of 4000fb$^{-1}$ by the end of 2037. This High-Luminosity LHC scenario, HL-LHC, will require a preparation program of the LHC detectors known as Phase-2 upgrades. [...] CMS-CR-2018-086.- Geneva : CERN, 2018 - 5 p. The upgraded front-end electronics of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter for the HL-LHC / Cometti, Simona (INFN, Turin) /CMS Collaboration The Compact Muon Solenoid detector was originally designed to operate for about ten years, for LHC instantaneous luminosity up to 1$\cdot$10$^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ and integrated luminosity of 500 fb$^{-1}$. The High Luminosity LHC will increase the instantaneous luminosity by about a factor of 5 from current levels and CMS will accumulate an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ by about 2035.With such high luminosity the electromagnetic calorimeter of CMS will have to cope with a challenging increase in number of interactions per bunch crossing and in radiation levels. The front-end readout electronics will be completely redesigned, with the goals of providing precision timing, low noise, sampling rate 4 times higher than the current one and added flexibility in the trigger system.. Anomaly detection using Deep Autoencoders for the assessment of the quality of the data acquired by the CMS experiment / Pol, Adrian Alan (CERN) /CMS Collaboration The certification of the CMS experiment data as usable for physics analysis is a crucial task to ensure the quality of all physics results published by the collaboration. Currently, the certification conducted by human experts is labor intensive and based on the scrutiny of distributions integrated on several hours of data taking. CMS ECAL Detector Control System Upgrade Plan for the CERN Large Hadron Collider Long Shutdown II / Jimenez Estupinan, Raul (Zurich, ETH) /CMS Collaboration The Electromagnetic Calorimeter (ECAL) is one of the detectors of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The ECAL Detector Control System (DCS) software has been implemented using the WinCC Open Architecture (OA) platform. [...] CMS-CR-2018-230.- Geneva : CERN, 2018 - 5 p. A 65 nm Data Concentration ASIC for the CMS Outer Tracker Detector Upgrade at HL-LHC / Nodari, Benedetta (Lyon, IPN) ; Caponetto, Luigi (Lyon, IPN) ; Galbit, Geoffrey Christian (Lyon, IPN) ; Scarfi', Simone (CERN) ; Viret, Sebastien (Lyon, IPN) The Concentrator Integrated Circuit (CIC) ASIC is a front-end chip for both Pixel-Strip (PS) and Strip-Strip (2S) modules of the future Phase-II CMS Outer Tracker upgrade at the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). It collects the digital data coming from eight upstream front-end chips (either MPAs or CBCs, depending on the module type), formats the signal in data packets containing the trigger information from eight bunch crossings and the raw data from events passing the first trigger level, and finally transmits them to the LpGBT unit. Upgrade of CMS Full Simulation for Run 2 / Vladimir Ivanchenko ; Banerjee, Sunanda (Fermilab) /CMS Collaboration We report on the status of the CMS full simulation software for Run 2 operation of the LHC. Initially, Geant4 10.0p02 was used in sequential mode, and about 16 billion events were produced for analysis of 2015-2016 data. [...] CMS-CR-2018-359.- Geneva : CERN, 2018 - 9 p. GEM detectors for the Upgrade of the CMS Muon Forward system / Mocellin, Giovanni (Aachen, Tech. Hochsch.) /CMS Collaboration The CMS experiment is one of the two general purpose experiments at the CERN LHC. During LHC Phase-2 starting from 2026, the instantaneous luminosity delivered to CMS will reach $5\times10^{34}$~cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$, resulting in high particle fluxes that require the detector to be upgraded. Development and operational experience of the web based application to collect, manage, and release the alignment and calibration configurations for data processing at CMS / Md, Hasbuddin (Delhi U.) /CMS Collaboration Alignment and calibration workflows in CMS require a significant operational effort, due to the complexity of the systems involved. To serve the variety of condition data management needs of the experiment, the alignment and calibration team has developed and deployed a set of web-based applications. The Condition DB Browser is the main portal to search, navigate and prepare a consistent set of calibrations to be consumed in reconstruction of data for physics. It also hosts various data management tools for the conditions including a customized display for certain calibration sets, an automatic user-defined notification agent for updates, a logging service for the user and the automatic online-to-offline uploads. In this presentation we report on the operational experience of this web application from 2017 data taking, with focus on new features and tools incorporated during this period..
