Search and measurement of the SM Higgs boson / Donato, Silvio (Zurich U.) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
After the success of the LHC Run-1 physics program, the ATLAS and CMS Collaborations have presented their results obtained with the first $\sim 36\,\textnormal{fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity delivered by the LHC at $\sqrt{s} = 13\,\textnormal{TeV}$ in Run-2. We present the main results obtained on the Standard Model Higgs boson, including the searches for specific decay and production channels, and the measurements of the Higgs boson couplings and differential cross section..

In the SM, there is destructive interference between (a) the heavy-quark loop and (b) the Higgs self-coupling production modes, which reduces the overall \xs. BSM Higgs boson pair production could proceed through changes to the Higgs couplings, for example the \ttH or $HHH$ couplings which contribute to (a) and (b), or through an intermediate resonance, $X$, which could, for example, be produced through a quark loop as shown in (c). - 00013 The expected and observed 95\% CL limits on the resonant production \xs, $\xsX \times \mathcal{B}\left(X \rightarrow \hh\right)$ as a function of \mX. The loose selection is used for $\mX \leq 500\GeV$, while the tight selection is used for $\mX \geq 500\GeV$. This is delineated with the blue dashed line. - 00016 : - 00023 : The expected and observed 95\% CL limits on the non-resonant production \xs \xsHH (a) for the SM-optimised limit using the tight selection and (b) as a function of $\kappa_\lambda$ using the loose selection. In (a) the red line indicates the 95\% confidence level. The intersection of this line with the observed, expected, and $\pm1\sigma$ and $\pm2\sigma$ bands is the location of the limits. In (b) the red line indicates the predicted \hh \xs if \khhh is varied but all other couplings remain at their SM values.
