 Efficiency of the Si-strips sensors used in the Precision Proton Spectrometer: radiation damage /CMS Collaboration The Precision Proton Spectrometer (PPS) is a forward-proton spectrometer using near-beam detectors (inside Roman Pots, RPs) located symmetrically on both sides of IP5 at a distance of about 220 m. In the early stage of the project, the tracking RPs were equipped with the Si-strip sensors used in the TOTEM experiment. [...] CMS-DP-2019-035; CERN-CMS-DP-2019-035.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 9 p.  Precision Proton Spectrometer timing detector efficiencies and two-arm timing resolution in 2018 data /CMS Collaboration The Precision Proton Spectrometer (PPS) is a forward-proton spectrometer using near-beam detectors (inside Roman Pots, RPs) located symmetrically on both sides of IP5 at a distance of about 220 m. In addition to the tracking system, timing detectors were installed in 2017 to measure the Time-Of-Flight (TOF) of the protons produced in central exclusive interactions.  Effect of the automated pixel detector bad component determination in tracking /CMS Collaboration In CMS, several reconstructions of the data are performed in order to ensure the best quality of reconstructed data. The latest reprocessing campaign, called Legacy Reprocessing, was undertaken during the Long Shutdown 2. [...] CMS-DP-2020-044; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-044.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 17 p. Fulltext: PDF;

 Comparison of ATLAS and CMS VBS Monte Carlo simulation /CMS Collaboration This is a collection of comparison plots, giving an overview over the different samples and settings employed at the atlas and cms experiments to model VBS processes. This document contains a set of plots showing preliminary results of the comparison.. CMS-DP-2020-043; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-043.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 14 p. Fulltext: PDF;

 A novel reconstruction framework for an imaging calorimeter for HL-LHC /CMS Collaboration To sustain the harsher conditions at high luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), the CMS experiment has designed a high granularity calorimeter (HGCAL) for the endcap regions, that uses silicon sensors to achieve radiation tolerance, with the additional benefit of a very high readout granularity. In regions characterised with lower radiation levels, scintillator tiles with individual SiPM readout are employed. [...] CMS-DP-2020-027; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-027.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 13 p.  Identification of hadronic tau decay channels using multivariate analysis (MVA decay mode) /CMS Collaboration A multivariate analysis is trained and developed to identify the hadronic decay channels of the tau lepton. The analysis exploits the features of the hadronic tau decay products, such as kinematic quantities and angular variables. [...] CMS-DP-2020-041; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-041.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 12 p.  Muon Reconstruction and Identification Performance with Run-2 data /CMS Collaboration The efficiency of muon reconstruction and identification is presented in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV collected in 2017. The muon scale and resolution are also measured over a wide range of muon transverse momentum from 10 GeV to 1 TeV scale. Lastly, the efficiency of the muon triggers with the full Run-2 data is presented.. CMS-DP-2020-040; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-040.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 22 p. Fulltext: PDF;

 Performance of the low-pT tau identification algorithm /CMS Collaboration There is an increasing demand to identify hadronically decaying tau leptons (denoted as $\tau_\text{h}$) below a $p_\text{T}$ of 10 GeV, such as for B-physics analyses and compressed SUSY searches. However, the orthodox $\tau_\text{h}$ identification algorithm is not applicable in the low $p_\text{T}$ regime, because the daughter particles from the $\tau_\text{h}$ decay will be spread over a large $\eta$--$\phi$ region and will not be confined in a single jet anymore from which $\tau_\text{h}$ is reconstructed.
