 B-tagging performance of the CMS Legacy dataset 2018. /CMS Collaboration Identification of heavy flavour jets, i.e.\,jets containing b or c hadrons, is an essential ingredient of many measurements as well as searches for new physics beyond the standard model at the LHC. In this Detector Performance Summary, the performance of these algorithms is presented for anti-kT jets with radius parameter 0.4 based on Legacy reconstruction of proton-proton collision data recorded by the CMS experiment at 13 TeV in 2018, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 60 fb$^{-1}$ and compared with expectations based on simulation.  CMS Silicon Strip Tracker Performance during Run 2 /CMS Collaboration The performance of the CMS Silicon Strip Tracker is monitored on a run by run basis using the CMS Offline Data Quality Monitoring Software. Among the quantities that are monitored, there are the overall fraction of bad components, the fractions of bad components broken down by readout partition and the cluster charge normalized to the traversed silicon length.  CMS luminosity measurement using nucleus-nucleus collisions in Run 2 /CMS Collaboration Material about the calibration of the luminosity delivered to the CMS experiment during the lead-lead (PbPb) and xenon-xenon (XeXe) data-taking periods in 2018 and 2017 at nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energies of 5.02 and 5.44 TeV, respectively, is presented. Three subdetectors are highlighted: the Fast Beam Conditions Monitor (BCM1F), the forward hadron calorimeter (HF), and the Pixel Luminosity Telescope (PLT).  Pileup-per-particle identification: optimisation for Run 2 Legacy and beyond /CMS Collaboration Pileup mitigation techniques are important for performing physics analysis in high pileup scenarios, such as in the data recorded by the CMS Collaboration during Run 2 of the LHC. The pileup per particle identification (PUPPI) algorithm was commissioned with 13 TeV data. [...] CMS-DP-2021-001; CERN-CMS-DP-2021-001.- Geneva : CERN, 2021 - 32 p. Fulltext: PDF;

 Environmental Background Hit Rate on GE1/1 in the 2018 Slice Test /CMS Collaboration The CMS Collaboration has decided to add new detectors using GEM technology at Stations 0, 1 and 2 of the endcap region of the CMS muon system for the upcoming HL-LHC runs. These GEM detectors will be operated in a harsh radiation environment. [...] CMS-DP-2020-053; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-053.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 4 p. Fulltext: PDF;

 DT Slice Test demonstrator results /CMS Collaboration During LS2, 4 DT Chambers (MB1 to MB4 Sector 12 Wheel +2) have been instrumented with Phase-2 on-board DT electronics (OBDT) to setup a demonstrator of the upgraded system called DT Slice Test. The OBDT streams TDC hits from the detector directly to the back-end electronics in the service cavern. [...] CMS-DP-2020-052; CERN-CMS-DP-2020-052.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 12 p. Fulltext: PDF;

 A Study of the ttW Background Modelling for ttH Analyses /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations In this document we compare Monte Carlo generator distributions of the ttW processes at particle level, using simulations produced by ATLAS and CMS. The aim is to compare the modelling and associated theory uncertainties of this important background for ttH measurements targeting final states where the Higgs boson decays to electrons, muons or hadronically decaying tau leptons, in preparation for a full Run-2 ATLAS+CMS combination. Validation of Physics Models of Geant4 using data from CMS Experiment /CMS Collaboration In the simulation of the CMS experiment, a specific Geant4 physics configuration (Physics List), tuned with dedicated test beam experiments, is used. Test beam data provide measurements of energy response of the calorimeter as well as resolution for well identified charged hadrons over a large energy region. Analytical Method (AM) for DT Trigger Primitive Generation in Phase 2 /CMS Collaboration A full replacement of the muon trigger system in the CMS (Compact Muon Solenoid) detector is envisaged for operating at the maximum instantaneous luminosities expected in HL-LHC (High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider) of about 5-7.5x10$^{34}$cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. Under this scenario, the new on detector electronics that is being designed for the DT (Drift Tubes) detector will forward all the chamber information at its maximum time resolution. A new trigger system based on the highest performing FPGAs is being designed and will be capable of providing precise muon reconstruction and Bunch Crossing identification. An algorithm easily portable to FPGA architecture has been designed to implement the trigger primitive generation from the DT detector. This algorithm has to reconstruct muon segments from single wire DT hits which, for a given BX, come with a spread of 400 ns due to the drift time in the cell.
