Neutrino interaction event filtering at liquid argon time projection chambers using neural networks with minimal input model bias / Babicz, Marta (Cracow, INP) ; Alonso-Monsalve, Saúl (CERN) ; Dolan, Stephen (CERN) In current and future neutrino oscillation experiments using liquid argon time projection chambers (LAr-TPCs), a key challenge is identifying neutrino interactions from the pervading cosmic-ray background. Rejection of such background is often possible using traditional cut-based selections, but this typically requires the prior use of computationally expensive reconstruction algorithms. Towards a full and realistic simulation framework for the Extreme Energy Events experiment / EEE Collaboration The network of MRPC (Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chambers) telescopes of the Extreme Energy Events experiment (EEE) was designed to study very high energy cosmic rays through detection of secondary cosmic muons in the hadronic shower. To better understand and predict the behavior of such events, a GEANT4-based simulation framework that well reproduces the response of individual telescopes was built. Towards Understanding the Origin of Cosmic-Ray Electrons / Krasnopevtsev, Dimitrii (MIT) /AMS Collaboration Precision results on cosmic-ray electrons are presented in the energy range from 0.5 GeV to 1.4 TeV based on 28.1 million electrons collected by the Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer on the International Space Station. In the entire energy range the electron and positron spectra have distinctly different magnitudes and energy dependences. A detailed map of Higgs boson interactions by the ATLAS experiment ten years after the discovery /ATLAS Collaboration The Standard Model of particle physics describes the known fundamental particles and forces that make up our universe, with the exception of gravity. One of the central features of the Standard Model is a field that permeates all of space and interacts with fundamental particles. Light (anti)nuclei production cross section studies in $p$+C collisions at the NA61/SHINE experiment. / Naskręt, Michał (Wroclaw U.) /NA61/SHINE Collaboration NA61/SHINE is a large-acceptance fixed-target experiment located at the CERN SPS, which studies final hadronic states in interactions of various particles and nuclei. It is unique in terms of providing data on a variety of collision systems at different collision energies. A simulation study for one-pion exchange contribution on very forward neutron productions in ATLAS-LHCf common events / Ohashi, Ken (Nagoya U., ISEE) ; Menjo, Hiroaki (Nagoya U., ISEE) ; Itow, Yoshitaka (Nagoya U., ISEE ; KMI, Nagoya) ; Sako, Takashi (Tokyo U., ICRR) Interpretations of the mass composition of ultra-high energy cosmic rays are unclear owing to uncertainties in the hadronic interaction models. Therefore, validations of hadronic interaction models via experiments are required. Highly luminescent scintillating hetero-ligand MOF nanocrystals with engineered Stokes shift for photonic applications / Perego, J (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Bezuidenhout, Charl X (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Villa, I (CTU, Prague) ; Cova, F (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Crapanzano, R (Milan Bicocca U.) ; Frank, I (CERN ; LMU Munich (main)) ; Pagano, F (CERN ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Kratochwill, N (CERN ; Vienna U.) ; Auffray, E (CERN) ; Bracco, S (Milan Bicocca U.) et al. Large Stokes shift fast emitters show a negligible reabsorption of their luminescence, a feature highly desirable for several applications such as fluorescence imaging, solar-light managing, and fabricating sensitive scintillating detectors for medical imaging and high-rate high-energy physics experiments. Here we obtain high efficiency luminescence with significant Stokes shift by exploiting fluorescent conjugated acene building blocks arranged in nanocrystals. Status and Prospects of the LHCf and RHICf experiments / LHCf Collaboration Precise understanding of hadronic interactions at high energies is a key to improve mass composition measurements of very high energy cosmic-rays and to solve the muon excess issue observed in high energy cosmic-ray experiments using an air-shower technique. The LHCf and RHICf experiments measures the differential production cross sections of very forward neutral particle as photons, neutral pions and neutrons at LHC and RHIC, respectively.
