Recent CMS heavy flavor physics results
/ Simone, Federica Maria (INFN, Bari ; Bari U.)
/CMS Collaboration
In this paper, recent results in the B-physics field achieved using proton-proton collision data at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV and $13$ TeV collected by CMS are presented. They include the angular analysis of the decay $\mathrm{B^{+}}\to \mathrm{K}^{*+} \mu^{+} \mu^{-}$ with Run 1 data, new measurements of D and B mesons production cross sections and CP violation studies using ${B}_s^{0}$ decays with Run 2 data. Performance monitoring of the GE1/1 Triple-GEM detectors for the CMS Muon System
/ Milella, Gabriele (DESY) ; Simone, Federica Maria (INFN, Bari ; Bari U.)
/CMS Collaboration
The muon system of the CMS experiment has been instrumented with two wheels of triple-GEM detectors in order to ensure redundancy in the pseudo-rapidity region 1.55-2.18 so keeping the trigger rate at an acceptable level while not compromising the CMS physics potential in Run 3 of the LHC.The station, named GE1/1, provides two additional muon hit measurements which will improve the muon tracking and triggering performance in combination with the existing CSC detectors. As the commissioning phase of the detector is ongoing, prompt assessment of the muon detection performance is crucial for adjusting the operating parameters of the detector and its electronics. This contribution will present a set of analysis tools developed for the detector performance monitoring based on tools common to all the CMS muon subdetectors. [...]

Standard Model multibosons at CMS and ATLAS
/ Massironi, Andrea (INFN, Milan Bicocca)
/ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Multiboson measurements in ATLAS and CMS reached a high level of precision with LHC Run 1 and Run 2 data taking. In this report the most recent results of di-boson (WW, WZ, ZZ, V$\gamma$), tri-boson (WWW, WWZ, WZZ, ZZZ), and rare production mechanisms (electroweak and photon-induced) will be shown. [...]

Phase 1 Upgrade of the CMS Hadron Calorimeter
/ Isik, Candan (Cukurova U.)
/CMS Collaboration
The Phase 1 upgrade of the CMS Hadron Calorimeter detector (HCAL) involved installing silicon photomultipliers (SiPM) to measure the scintillator light output with better signal/noise and upgrading the read-out electronics, allowing for increased longitudinal segmentation and better performance. This talk will summarize the design, testing, installation, and commissioning of the HCAL Phase 1 upgrade. [...]

Dark matter direct detection from the single phonon to the nuclear recoil regime
/ Campbell-Deem, Brian (UC, San Diego) ; Knapen, Simon (LBL, Berkeley ; UC, Berkeley ; CERN) ; Lin, Tongyan (UC, San Diego) ; Villarama, Ethan (UC, San Diego)
In most direct detection experiments, the free nuclear recoil description of dark matter scattering breaks down for masses $\lesssim$ 100 MeV, or when the recoil energy is comparable to a few times the typical phonon energy. [...]
